Beware - Save your money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/30/07
Horrible hotel. Rude staff, charge you by the person, not just for the room. Also $5 per person to use pool on top of the $129 room rate. Hotel in disrepair, hot tub don't work, stained sheets, rooms not fully cleaned. But they do have Internet access. Go figure. Must need something to do to pass the time instead of take care of thier property. Save yourself a bad mood and go one or two towns over and get something decent and affordable.

Any port in the storm
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/23/06
I wanted to stay in Delavan, Wi but the weekend I was to go there, everything was booked up. So I checked out this Sleep Inn. The phone reservation person was nice and helpful. They had only a few rooms available and one of them was a smoking room. So I took the non-smoking one. The front desk personnel were fine and friendly. Fairly quick to check me in and check-out. Overall, the Sleep Inn was ok. The room did not have a phone in it. Why? I have no idea. And when I went to park my car near it, I noticed the window was left open. I closed it and found out later why it was left open. Upon returning later that night, there was a slight hint of natural gas smell in the room. For safety sake, I left the window open that night and turned on the A/C. They charged me over $100 (tax included) for the room. Was it worth it? Well.... for over $100 the room: a) had the gas smell b) had no phone c) had no clock radio in it d) No HBO or Showtime The side door (to get into the hotel from its back parking lot) had a broken lock. Anybody could get in from the back parking lot. Very scarry! They do have an indoor pool that seemed to be family filled. They also offer a continental breakfast near the pool. A Citgo gas station is nearby and its very close to I - 43. I'm sure that I was charged the $100+ due to the time of year. I think for all things considered, $70-$80 charged would have seem more reasonable. But I needed a room and they were near Delavan. So the old saying of "any port in the storm" is true. Will I go back? Only if that back door lock is fixed. Sleep Inn would have recieved a much higher rating if the room had a phone, the clock radio and no natural gas smell. The broken lock also greatly lowered their rating. Check out the near-by "Blue Bay" restaurant. Very good breakfast.

Never again.
By Mary, 02/20/06
We stayed at this hotel because it was close to my daughter's house. When we got there we confirmed a rollaway bed, when we checked in there was a rollaway "airing out in the hallway" which was later wheeled into our room. We wanted to use the whirlpool and pool, the pool water was too cold and the whirlpool we were unable to get to work. The general manager said it was used previously but he needed to let the motor cool off. Rust stains under the tables in the pool area that haven't been cleaned in who knows when. When we came back from dinner my daughter came to swim with us and our 2 grandchildren but we were charged another $5.00 per person for them to swim. Very rude employees, we will never stay here again. I should have taken the advice of the other comments about this hotel.

No other choice
By Jan, 07/10/05
I liked the desk clerk. He was w very helpful. Hed helped get my belongings to my 2nd floor room. There was an elevator, I felt very lucky for that. I was told I would have a 1st flr. rm. That did not happen. No luggage carts. I am staying 11 nights. Everyone else was full. I live in these rooms about 310 days out of the year. They are home when I'm gone from my home. They tried to put me in a rm. with 1 double bed, after bing told it would be a queen. I insisted on a queen. The white sheets were visibly stained with black something on them. There were ashes on end tables, The towels and such were paper thin, no bathtub, shower only. Microwave ok, fridge was the half size of a motel rm. fridge. The room was tiny, my window overlooked the inside pool and was very dirty. Very good lighting in the room. Only 3 small drawers, not enough for clothing. Large open closet. The hotel is set back so far and the motel sign is only 24" by 18". Had to ask directions twice before I got anywhere near it. The 9th, 15th and 16th of July I am paying $79.99 and $59.99 for the rest of the nights. I am to have housekeeping service once a week because of the LOW rate. Housekeeping does not even understand any english. This is a $39.00 room value. You don't expect much for that price. Very good wireless internet.

Under new ownership
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/18/05
This hotel is very clean and well taken care of. It has recently under went 300,000 in renovations. I agree with the other reviews that it was horrible, but with the ownership change it has greatly improved. Still a little overpriced.

Service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/02/04
The staff was not very friendly. I sure didn't feel welcomed. You would think that they would attempt to go out of their way to make the customer's stay a pleasant one, but it turned out to be a most depressing experience. My partner, who stayed at another room, had a broken lock at his door, and after making various requests to the staff, was finally able to move to another room. As for me, I've been double charged for the very same room; the latest time on a date when I wasn't even close to the area (to this day the matter is unresolved-I'm informed they'll call me back but never do). There are other hotels in the area. Even if you have to drive out of the way a little ways it would be well worth it (I fully recommend not staying here).

The worst Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/24/04
This was my worst hotel experience. The rooms were dirty, we were charged a different rate when we arrived and were told to be happy to have a room. The breakfast was horrible!! Then when we complained, we were told by management we were a liar!! We were also told never to come to their hotel again...like we would make the same mistake twice.
