Harbor Lights Inn, Dauphin Island

I decided I needed to see a beach so started searching for hotels that allowed dogs so he could go with. We found this place on the web and made a reservation. I was happy that there was no up-front pet deposit! I took my mother, 15 month old child and my boxer with me to relax in the sun. The hotel was very sweet. The people who work there were great and made my dog feel very welcomed (the maid had some treats in her pocket). Although it is an older hotel it was very clean. Like advertised the maid did come every day! I wouldn't say the beach was "right across the street". It is more like two streets from the beach then a nice little walk to the water (remember I had a child and dog in tow thought). It was a nice walk though so no big deal. The places we ate at were all great. One place that does a lot of take out gave me a burger that tasted just like one you would make yourself at home. The Lighthouse Bakery was excellent as well (get there early or your waiting in a long line, worth it though). All in all I think I will be returning to the island and staying at the Harbor Lights again. Clean, allows pets, confortable bed, great AC = GREAT TIME.

Peaceful, quite, down-to-earth, and the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen. This is no South Beach or Panama... Go to those places if you want a lot of stimulation. Dauphin Island is simply... sweet.

The staff was friendly, the 2 bedroom suite was reasonably priced, roomy and spotless. The public beach is just across the road and the more private beaches are only 10 minutes away. We will definitely return this year!

I have been to Dauphin Island several times, and every time I go, I stay at the Harbor Lights Inn. There is no better deal I've found anywhere. The people on the island are great. I always feel at home. The beaches are always clean and not crowded at all, especially during the week. Not much to do, but that's why I go on vacation... to sit...on the beach. Take your dog too! They love animals on the island!

The motel was great! The island was great! Neither one was crowded at all. My family had plenty to see and lots of time to relax together on the beach across the street. We're already planning another trip there.

everyone was very nice and just like family. our grandkids love dalphin island.the ocean is just like being in heaven.our rooms were very nice and priced well for a family.our rooms were cleaned everyday.we had a patio that looked out into mobile bay which is beautiful! we were only a short walk to the ocean. we hope to go back soon. teresa myers
