Great complimentary breakfast!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/29/06
Our family of 5 stayed for 1 night but we had 2 rooms. They do not have adjoining rooms, but did arrange 2 rooms next to each other for us. No refrigerator in rooms (disappointed, because we thought their website mentioned fridge in every room), but they do have ice machine near the stairs. Clean and comfortable rooms with small coffee maker, ironing board, and hair dryer. Checking in & out was quick and easy. Breakfast was simple but great with variety of choices, such as coffee, milk, OJ, cereals, fruits, Holiday Inns' signature cinnamon rolls, etc, just as picture in their Express Start® Breakfast Bar on their website. We were on our way home from Michigan, so it was a relief to check-in to a clean room after more than 10-hour on the road, so that we could get a good rest before another long drive the next day. Will recommend.

What a Nightmare!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/01/04
My husband and I always stay @ Holiday Inns due to consistent cleanliness of their rooms and their excellent 24 hr customer services. On our return trip from Louisiana to our home, New York, we rolled into this hotel @ 4AM tired and dangerously sleepy for driving more than 24hrs. I cannot tell you how shocked I was to find the lobby dark and the clerk with no shoes on fast asleep. I had to shout to him to wake him! Though he could run our credit card he told my husband that the computers were down and could not give us a recite until the AM. The room smelled musky and mildewed and there were auto fresheners hanging from the curtain. When we pulled back the spread upon the bed the sheets were stained and wrinkled apparent that they had not been changed. Tired and now aggravated we slept upon the spread. In the AM there was not but a small hotel courtesy soap and though a coffee pot there was no coffee in the room. Very angry now for we never had encountered this at any Holiday Inn we had ever stayed with and just wanting to get on our way we went to the office to turn in the door card and still not offered a recite. Several 100's of miles from this hotel I remembered leaving my 14k gold ear rings on the bedside table of the room. It is then that it occurred to us we had no clue where this motel was. We immediately called our credit card company and discovered that the hotel had charged our card twice for the room. Once home Mike spent days trying to locate this hotel and once found threw Inter Continental Hotels Group Guest Relations, the charges were immediately corrected, but informed that the manager said no ear rings were left in our room. Shortly a letter was received by Inter Continental Hotels Group stating that indeed the ear rings were located. I telephoned the hotel manager yesterday and he told me that he had mailed the recite and the ear rings and no one was here to sign for them. He went on to tell me that the post office held this mail for a month and it was returned to him. I telephoned our local Post office and was told always they will leave a card informing to recipient that they have mail held to be signed for and none was left. I was also told no such mail was received and held for a month because they do not hold unclaimed mail for that long period of time. I telephoned the Inter Continental Hotels Group once again today to assure the hotel manager that I wanted the recite and the 14k gold ear rings and he repeated what he had told me to the woman I was speaking with @ Inter Continental Hotels Group. He assured her the recite and the ear rings were being sent to me now COD because he had already paid the expense of sending them one time now and I was not here to sign for them the first time. At this point we will happily pay the COD charges just to end this matter with this nightmare! Will the hotel manager mail these items as promised, only time will tell at this point. We will continue to use Holiday Inns when traveling, but I can assure you this one will be greatly avoided!
