Days Inn Charleston East WV, Charleston

We had made reservations at this Days Inn. We called to try and cancel our reservation, but agreed to go ahead and stay since they would not let us cancel our reservation. They said we could not cancel because they had our credit card information and would charge us for the night if we did not stay there. We went ahead and checked into the hotel. About a few minutes after walking into our hotel room, we received a phone call from the front desk that they needed to slide our credit card. I said, I thought you had our credit card information which was the reason we had to stay there?? I said, OK, that we would come down to the front desk. A couple minutes later we received another phone call that we HAD to go down there. I said, I realize this, but my husband is in the bathroom and he needs to bring you the credit card. Then a couple minutes later we received a third phone call! I said, this is extremely rude, we will be down as soon as we can get down there. The fourth time the owner called, my husband was ready to walk out the door to go down there. I had him answer the phone. The owner began screaming at him that he had to sign their register right now! This was the first we had heard about the register... My husband asked him to calm down. The owner continued to yell and my husband told the owner he was being extremely rude and we would be leaving his hotel. He asked for the owners name. He refused to give his name to my husband. He said, I am the owner of the Days Inn. My husband asked if he was the owner of the Days Inn across the country? The owner became belligerent and implied my husband was being racist and said you don't like me because I am from a different country!! We had never met the owner and could not believe he was accusing a guest of being racist! After informing the owner over the phone we would be leaving their hotel. The owner showed up banging loudly on our door. My husband opened the door to the owner screaming at us to get out repeatedly. He grabbed the key cards from my husband. We were very afraid of how out of control and belligerent the owner was acting. He told my husband to f**ck off. The owner did end up charging us for that night. Of course, we disputed the charge and will not be paying for the night we did not stay at this horrible Days Inn! Do NOT stay here!

The room was much cleaner than last time we stayed. It had new carpet this time. Everything was great except the ice machine did not work. They have a nice breakfast for free. I reserved 2 rooms in advance and they were as requested.

All of the employee's are snobby and when I went to go look at the river out back there's nothing but trash all over the river bank. The room was nasty, not very clean at all, it had a very bad odor as well. I would not recommend anyone to stay here, I know that I will never be back again.

I recently booked a reservation by phone with this Days Inn. I requested a n/s handicap room with two beds. I also called the day before my arrival to verify the reservation. I was told that I could park at my door as I am disabled and can not walk far. Upon arrival, I found this to be an interior room hotel with no parking at my door. I was assigned a room and upon entering the room I discovered it was not a handicap room at all. I called the front desk only to be told by the clerk that she didn't take my reservation and it wasn't her fault. At check-out, I sent my sister in to speak to the manager because I was so sore from walking such a long distance to my room that I couldn't walk in to the lobby. My sister spoke to the office manager who apologized and said she would adjust my bill. There was a power outage before we checked out so I couldn't get a receipt. After 1 week, I checked my credit card acct and so far no adjustment has been made. I was charged the full rate. The manager told my sister that another couple had decided to stay another day so she gave them my room. I have never been treated so unfairly or lied to in my life by a hotel. I will never stay here again and I have decided never to stay at another Days Inn.

We were traveling to Louisville and needed a hotel to spend the night. The room was clean but so dark and outdated. They had every amenity you could ask for: Fridge, micro, popcorn, shampoo, lotion. It was just a bit strange how long and dark the hallways were and the entrance area was tracked with mud or dirt or something....the place was very quiet and we got a goods night rest. The breakfast was nice. They have a hostess there at the breakfast that was worth the price of admission!

Having stayed at this motel off and on for the past 2 years, I feel qualified to make a statement. I have never stayed at any motel/hotel anywhere in the world where I was treated as well as at the Kanawha City Days INn. From the owner, Mrs. Nancy Lovell to each of the employees whether desk clerks or housekeepers or maintenance, I found all to be great people doing a great job...They were all caring, compassionate, and friendly people who can relate to all walks of life. I highly recommend this motel to anyone wishing to stay in the Charleston/Kanawha City area.

My family and I stayed at this hotel for one night and I have never felt so unsafe! The doors to the hotel were propped open so anyone could have come into the hotel. We requested a roll-a-way for our son when we checked in at around 5pm and by 9pm it still had not been delivered. We finally told them to forget it since he was already asleep on the floor. We also received two obscene phone calls at around 3:30am and when we complained to the front desk they said that the calls were placed from inside the hotel so they couldn't do anything except shut our phone off. Well, if the calls came from INSIDE the hotel the pervert knows our room number! Last but not least, there were suspicious holes in the corner of the room and in the bathroom ceiling. I am just waiting to see our family on the internet. My advise, stay somewhere else!
