BEST WESTERN Hotel Mara, Riga

The first thing I noticed was how quiet and peaceful the area was surrounding the hotel. The hotel is located off a quiet little side road just far enough that you don't hear the traffic noise. The room was clean and cheerful with a view looking out over a grassy field with trees in the background. I found it very helpful that the ladies at the front desk spoke very good English. They were very friendly and helpful making sure I had everything I needed. They arranged for me to be picked up and taken to the airport and even sent a driver out to buy flowers for my lady friend. The complimentary continental breakfasts were a great way to start of my day. They had several foods to choose from and the coffee was the best i've ever tasted. The friendly atmosphere didn't stop at the front desk. The young lady that served me in the dinning was polite friendly and eager to please. The food was good throughout my nine days in Riga but I would have to recommend that they increase the variety of the dinner menu. During my stay at Hotel Mara, I found the sauna very relaxing. Lastly, I would have to say this Hotel felt more like a family owned buisness than a world wide chain. James Curtis
