The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/30/08
The following observations are based on over 45 nights at this hotel.
The Good- Proximity to Fort Campbell, Pleasant Staff ( Mostly ), Parking Lot and Grounds are Clean, Internet Speed and Connectivity, Has A Pool/Hot Tub, Managers' Reception, Hot Breakfast
The Bad-Overall cleanliness is below average. There is a visible line of dirt around the perimeter of almost every wall including the elevator. My room had been recently renovated, but no one ever performed a Final Clean. There was a peculiar smell to the room when the AC was turned on so I pulled the cover off of the AC unit and it was loaded with drywall dust and other construction related debris. There was caulking on the ceramic tile in the bathroom and the ever-present line of dust around the walls. Dryer in the Laundry Room doesn't work properly, I had to run 1 pair of jeans through 3 cycles to get them mostly dry.
The Ugly - Hot Tub has not worked properly on a consistent basis for the last 2 months. Either the jets don't work, the heater is broken or it's too dirty to use. Screen doors surrounding the indoor pool area are not operational, allowing bugs and leaves to enter the pool and hot tub. In the evenings certain Front Desk staff have a tendency to be somewhere else besides the Front Desk. Finally when checking out for the week I was assessed an Early Departure Fee of $20, which in the 2 months I have been staying here I had never even heard of. When I asked the Front Desk person about it, they stated that "Corporate was on their back for not charging this fee", I don't have a big problem with the fee as long as the customer is informed about it, whether thru printed material at the Front Desk, being told that this is their policy, or even on their specific website. When I asked the person to produce something that had the policy written on it, they could not, even after waiting 30 minutes. If it is a policy then post it and inform your customers.
