Worst hotel experience ever
By Kathleen Bender, 12/8/09
I stayed in the hotel as part of a wedding party block. Let me just say that the hotel itself is beautiful as well as the rooms, very comfy beds and modern accommodations. Unfortunately, the customer service was absolutely horrible. As part of the wedding/bridal party we had reserved a floor of the king size rooms that included a couch with the coordinator Jamie Cerrulo. When we arrived the hotel had everyone of us on separate floors in the smaller rooms that only included a king size bed, though we were paying for the much larger rooms & the bride & bridesmaids had to get ready for the big day in separate rooms. There were several mix-ups with our rooms, different names on the reservations and different people being placed in different rooms. When we asked to speak with Jamie she was nowhere to be found and they were unable to reach her by phone. The bride and mother of the bride had been trying to reach her for several weeks with no calls ever being returned. No discount was given for the mix-up with the size of the rooms and we had to pay for the larger room then the ones we received. We did not receive late checkout like we had requested and had been told we would get. Myself & another bridesmaid were double charged for the rooms and were given no explanation as to why or what would be done to remedy the situation. I have called several times in the last four days to try and find out what is going on with my $95 overcharge but no one is willing to help me or offer me an explanation or even tell me when I will receive my money back. I spoke with the GM named Michaelene Guerrieri-Turner about the transaction and I have honestly never been treated so disrespectfully in my entire life or felt so insulted. She yelled at me and basically called me an idiot and refused to offer me any explanation or help in the matter. I have spoken with corporate about her and hopefully something will be done. I am still unclear as to where my $95 is or when it will be refunded to me and I don't think I will be receiving an answer anytime soon.

BEST HOTEL EXPERIENCE
By Jamie, 7/13/08
Not only was Hotel Indigo unique and fresh from the other carbon copy hotels, the customer service experience was unbelievable. When i first walked in, the front desk staff was smiling. The sales staff was so helpful, as well. I planned my daughters wedding there and they went above and beyond all expectations that I could have had. The rooms were to die for as well, hardwood floors, huge flat screen tvs, spa like showers, and a restaurant on-site to boot. Not only for Vernon Hills, but for a new boutique hotel, I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else.

Bad experience
By Sue D, 6/26/08
Hotel Indigo was very pretty and very clean. Stayed there after my daughters wedding. I have one complaint though....DONT LEAVE ANYTHING BEHIND WHEN YOU CHECK OUT OF YOUR ROOM, CUZ YOU WILL NOT GET IT BACK!!!! I left a pair of jeans and a pair of shorts in the dresser drawer, and when I emptied my suitcase the next day, my husband and I realized we didnt check the dresser. I called about 5-6 times and they were never found in 'lost and found' or in housekeeping hands. They offered me nothing to replace my loss nor in a discount of any kind. Plus, if you pay in cash, make sure they give you back a $25. charge they automatically put on your bill in case you 'do anything to the room'? We are 55 years old. I never got mine back yet. No 'restaurant', just a cute cafe. Nice people work there, I just had a bad experience.

One of the best....
By jenni v, 8/16/06
This hotel was awsome! The front desk staff was wonderful from the day we checked in, to the day we checked out! We called them with many questions and whoever would answer the phone would answer our questions promptly! The room was huge! We stayed in the taking care of business suite! Two queen beds, pull out couch and large kitchen table! The beds were so soft! The pillows were also! Nice pool area. Breakfast in the mornings were also great! Huge selection of things to eat! Blueberry muffins were awsome! Only bad thing about this place is the fact that the shuttle only goes 5 miles and Six Flags is 8 miles! Otherwise we were overly happy with our stay!

Awful
For the price you pay, this hotel should be cleaner. The bedding, furniture, carpeting-- everything, was shabby and looked old. The pillows on the bed were disgusting with barely any filling and very lumpy. I felt extermely uncomfortable in my room to the point that I didn't want to touch anything in it. The front desk service was fine. There was no room service. I expected something nicer, cleaner, and with more amenities.
