Got back last night, ready to go again!

I'd like to say after reading the other reviews, if you want a ritzy resort, go to one, they are plentiful. If you want to stay at an excellent hotel, with service that will never cease to amaze you, this is the place. While the "Water Club" is an older establishment, and does not have Walnut paneled walls, our room was clean and well stocked, and even though we were directly under the rooftop lounge, the noise was NEVER a problem. All the people at the desk went out of their way to be helpful and polite, and the hotel restaurant/bar people were outstanding. Maury we miss you already!
The Water Club is directly across a dead end street from one of the most beautiful beaches in San Juan, lined with coconut trees, it truly feels like paradise. The neighborhood can look a bit run down, but we never once felt nervous or threatened in any way at all. In fact, for anyone who is not so full of themselves they only look down their noses at the world, the locals are incredibly friendly and helpful. The locals speak Spanish, but most everyone is also fluent in English as well.
The San Juan Water and Beach Club may not be the best fit for the ultra wealthy or those seeking to find a pampering resort to make them “feel” ultra wealthy, but for the rest of us, it is a small slice of Heaven.
