A Dream Come True
By Meggie, 08/02/09
My boyfriend and I visited the Henderson Park Inn from July 21st-26th, 2009. We were a little nervous at first that we would be the youngest couple there (being 26). But we were very surprised that the guests ranged from all different ages; and it turned out to be the best week of my life!! We stayed in an Executive Suite, in the main building. The hotel was beautiful, our room was amazing, and all of the staff were so nice and friendly. We loved how the Inn was secluded from the main Destin area, and felt very private next to Henderson State Park. The Inn provided breakfast and lunch each day, and we each got our own beach chairs and umbrella for us on the beach. Happy Hour was also great...with a choice of beer, wine, or a mixed fruity drink. I think our favorite part of Henderson Park inn was our private balcony overlooking the beach. It was so beautiful, and it was such a treat to sleep with the balcony doors open at night and hear the waves from the beach. I also recommend that you try to eat at the Inn's restaurant (the Beachwalk restaurant). We ate there our second night, and had the opportunity to sit outside and eat while watching the beach and the sunset. The food was also delicious!!! Our whole experience was wonderful, and we will definantly be coming back to Henderson Park Inn...there is nowwhere else I would rather stay in Destin, FL.

Restaurant needs to go!
By Chad, 04/15/09
The overall experience was pleasant. Views overlooking the gulf were absolutely gorgeous and the extra amenities made us fall in love during previous visits. The rooms are absolutely gorgeous and comfortable, giving all the comforts of home. This visit, however, a restaurant was introduced to the Inn where the Inn guests were treated as second class citizens. The extra business was very loud and radiated throughout the building, until 1 am on most nights. Previous years left us with a packed lunch that could be taken out onto the deck, beach, room, etc. This year, we had to MAKE A RESERVATION as inn guests, and were turned away in the middle of the week for lack of seats, when they weren't at full capacity. The restaurant takes away from the charm of the bed and breakfast.

Well worth the money!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/12/08
I don't usually write a review because I am not normally impressed enough with a facility to take the time but after our stay at the Inn I decided to share. I was immediately impressed with the location because it is located next to the state park so the view of the ocean and the beach is not compromised by high rise condos. Secondly the staff was very friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a quiet or maybe romantic getaway then you have found it. I have nothing against children because I have three grands of my own which I have already taken to the beach this summer, but it was very soothing and relaxing to enjoy the beach without children. I don't think this Inn could have offered anything else to make us comfortable. If you think this place is pricey then you must consider the perks, from the lovely breakfast, light lunch provided, fresh homemade cookies and lemonade in the afternoon to the refridgerators full of cold drinks, bottled water, and candy bars and lets not forget the beach towels provided whenever needed. You could also check out a bicycle for a ride along the beach. Did I mention we loved this place?? We will definitely return.,,

Top Notch Service, Beautiful Views
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/01/08
We have been here several times before and after Hurricane Ivan. The big change since the hurricane is the loss of the pool, but it was replaced by a huge sun deck. The rooms are beautiful, the beds so comfy, delicious breakfast and gourmet box lunches. All of these are topped only by the absolutely top-notch customer service. I can't think of any negatives!

Been Going for Years
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/16/08
We've been going to Henderson for years and were devastated when it closed for condo development. We then heard about the re-opening and went last November just when it opened. The prices then were really high but they've been reduced some since then - the only thing missing is the pool. How can you have such a fantastic B&B in Destin without a pool? Other than the pool and the prices being a little high this place is terrific...no kids is the best bonus.

DREAM GETAWAY
By Alyson, 04/18/08
My husband and I never took a real honeymoon so for our 10th anniversary we thought that we deserved to really spoil ourselves. This place was the ticket!! The innkeepers take care of everything. They don't even let you throw your trash away. Breakfast and lunch (delicious) are provided and every beach ammenity. All you have to do is select where you'll have your evening meal. The local outlets are also a good place to go. The inn is very quiet and relaxing. My husband and I loved it and we'll definately be going back- and we won't wait 10 years to do so.

We died and went to Heaven!
By AnnR, 03/24/08
We were one of the very first to stay at the Henderson Park when it was just reopening last spring. At the time, the price was very good, (not sure if the cost has gone up), the beach was awesome, the Inn iself was amazing. The decor was wonderful, the people extremely friendly and the food excellent. We have decided that Destin is our place and THIS is our Inn.

Perfect in every way!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/25/07
From the moment we pull up we knew we were going to have a wonderful anniversary weekend. From start to finish I can honestly say it was one of the best places we have ever stayed at. The view of the ocean was breath taking and the room was superb! We were treated with the best customer service. Julie, the concierge, was so nice and helpful in helping us find our way around Destin and gave us great suggestions on places to eat. The breakfast was so gourmet and beyond good! I recommend this place to anyone wanting a relaxing, romantic and great getaway.

Ultimate Couples Getaway!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/20/07
Location is so important for a perfect vacation, but what we found so magical was the incredible service that each staff member gave with interest in meeting the guests every possible need. The receptionist, chef, bartender, even the custodial service providers greeted us with a smile and kind word. Having the quaint accomodations with this gorgeous view and beach is just magnificient. We were so disappointed to hear the HPI had been sold since our initial visit thirteen years ago. Recently, we had a cousin get married on the beach and mention she went to Henderson Park Inn...I was astonished as we thought it had been torn down. We were thrilled to go again and plan to go back every year the original building is standing. We would love to have a time share in this Bed and Breakfast in order to save it.

Oasis of Understated Elegance
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/01/07
Spent a weekend there with friends. That's right, Friends! At the time there was no cherished loved one...then, there was a cheriched loved one, but the Inn had closed...now, there's still a cherished loved one, the Inn has re-opened, but I'm broke. But if I ever am able to generate enough income, I will gladly spend it for a weekend with my Jeannie at the wonderful Henderson Park Inn. The amenities were superb, the staff was friendly, and the food was simply outstanding.
