Knights Inn Santa Cruz Beach/Boardwalk, Santa Cruz

This place is great all around! You can't get a better price for the location. It's walking distance to the boardwalk and pier. We stayed in December 2010 during a terrible storm and the power went out all over town. The staff made sure we had everything we needed and they even gave us candles for the room. The rooms are very comfortable and have everything we need. An added bonus for us is that they are pet friendly and we travel everywhere with our little dog. I will stay here again and would recomend it to anyone!

thought about staying here but everyone here changed my mind, I would not like anything I've heard. Booked Dream Inn instead, sounds like it will be worth the extra money.

Its a great place to stay if your not staying in your room the whole time your in Santa Cruz, Loved every moment that I was in my room. Would go back again to stay here!

It does not smell and you will not have to challenge the overcharges on your credit card afterwards. Some of the reviews here appear to be from an alternate reality. Cooking staff? Helpful? I did not feel welcome, comfortable or safe staying here. The management really does not want to deal with customers and appears to be in this for the place to stay; the walls are incredibly thin and you will hear everything that happens next door, and vice versa. The prices are cheap but you will find that the rooms do not include amenities you might expect, like soap, shampoo, towels, toilet paper, light bulbs --- good luck finding someone to give these to you, too. The staff is around in the morning to wake you up several hours before checkout and demand money. Period.

Very Old, Very noisy, Parking is a problem, no coffee or food establishments close by and the office doesn't open till 8:00am (they do have a coffee pot in the office) Towels are very old and hurt. Pay another $100.00 for some place else it will be Well worth it!!!

I have to disagree with everyone else and say that I really enjoyed my stay at the Knight's Inn in Santa Cruz. The people are amazingly nice and helpful, the room we stayed in looked like an apartment (3 rooms and a bathroom), there's a pool, and the hotel is within walking distance of the beach, the wharf, and the boardwalk. I don't understand how people can complain about this hotel. If you're going on a vacation, you shouldn't be spending all your time in a room, anyway. My advice is to book this hotel!

Dislike:Rooms - Moldy,smelly and poorly renovated from 1 bedroom rentals to motel. Only one 19" TV with 2 bedrooms rental. Like:Location 1.5 blks from Boardwalk Dislike: Contential Breakfast consisted of meager slice of poppyseed bread & 4oz. cup of coffe for entire Motel Residents

The price was not bad for this little place. The staff was very helpful. However... Some of the lights didn't work in the room. Especially the one you need when you first come into the room at night in the dark. The AC didn't work at all. Bathroom door closed, but you had to mash it closed to get it to kind of shut. Getting out of the bathroom was also a challange. You had to use all of your "oomph" to get it back open. The duct tape holding the carpet and tile down was a giggle at best. They must be kidding about that. If I were looking again for price, I would stay here again. After all, I think I got what I paid for. It was clean an quiet. If I were looking for a nice price AND a facility that was in good shape, I would keep looking for other places.

I liked this place because between sun and thursday it is very cheap to stay there. It has a microwave and a refrigerator plus the regular cable and phone ammenities. It was clean and the location was great only 10 minutes from the metro bus/downtown and the beach boardwalk.

The extior was shoddy, the woman at the front desk was short with us twice (once when I was handing her my credit card and I asked a question and another time when we told her our checkout time was 5:30, hours before the lobby opened), and I paid a lot more that I originally thought. The room was decent and the proximity to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk was excellent. The overall experience was not worth it.
