USE COMMON SENSE
By Karen, 11/17/12
RE: Amy & Michal: Anyone should know not to leave cash in a hotel room. When I stayed the a week or so ago my room had a safe in it. Why didn't they use it. I didn't notice any "cheap freshener smells", either. Maybe they are confused as to where they actually stayed. My stay couldn't have been better!

“Great value and close to everything.”
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/13/12
Visiting family 20 minutes from the Vegas strip, I needed to catch a 6 AM flight, and decided to stay here to allow them to sleep. I booked this hotel due to its proximity to the airport, reviews, and great price. The check-in process was smooth, there was free Internet at the coffee shop by the lobby (smoke-free), the room and bed was big and clean and even had a nice view (#606). The air-conditioning was on full blast, which I needed to turn down. They had a little shop where I could pick up water and snacks. I slept well and used the shuttle company recommended on their website to get to the airport. I would definitely recommend and stay here again as the price/value is unbeatable. It's a great hotel but if any of you are looking to save some $$ then book it at HotelDealNow. Com They usually have some pretty good deals on there.

annual getaway
By Nicki, 7/7/12
My husband have come to the orleans two years in a row. The orleans is filled with plenty to do, dining, bowling, movies, pool, etc. There was never a dull moment. My only suggestion is to update the rooms with a more modern tv, replace the stained carpet and bedroom furniture to give it a boost.

Spa-Mania!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/23/11
SPA-MANIA! Ok, so I'm a dinosaur...I have grown out of the gambling craze and usually go to Vegas with my wife or family just to get out of town and take a break. But I am one of those people who like to "watch people" more than spend money. I do not get as much thrill out of gambling these days as I do in watching other people go by or try their luck at the tables, slots or other diversion to be enjoyed. I accompany my wife during her winning or dues payment trips to "sin city" and I spend my time contemplating everyone that passes by. I am fascinated by all the various nationalities, sizes, actions, interactions, looks, interest, characteristics, attitudes and on and on. So what do I do in Vegas for fun, relaxation and to come home with a pleasant memory? I go to the spas at each and every hotel that we stay in. And , for an hour or two I experience from beginning to end the wonder of being treated very well…VERY WELL…for very little cost. At having my own private or semi-private Steam Room, Dry Sauna, Jacuzzi, Shower, and special place to relax and ponder life. All while getting some health benefits out of it and simply relaxing my cares and troubles away. Since I found this holistic therapeutic nirvana, this great tension reliever…and make the decision that I was going to take mental notes, absorb, evaluate and review each one. I have visited three in the Vegas area. Oh, sure I have gone to other in the past in Reno, Tahoe and elsewhere. But that was some time ago and this is a new venture and a new enterprise and with the scarcity of visitors I encounter at these wonderful places I feel someone should reintroduce people to them and/or spread the great news about them. One has to begin somewhere so I am starting now with my last three most recent visits. I believe in the KISS principle of Keep It Simple Stupid so I use these evaluation tools. 1- Great 2- Very Good 3- Good STAR POWER **** Places Visited to Date: Orleans MGM Grand New York, New York Orleans SPA – Positives – All Spas are great places – but here are a few Pros & Cons Pros: Easy access, 1 $15.00 to use if you are staying at the casino 1 Located near the pool 1 Located off the gym 1 Service 1 Locking System Key Snacks & Amenities 1 Sandals 1 Towels 1 Showers 1 Size 1 Feeling of Privacy (your happy place) 1 Floor Plan 1 Storage for gear 1 Attitude of Staff 1 Dry Sauna 1 Wet Sauna 1 Cons: None that I can remember Evaluation – For the price you cannot beat this…it was as with “every spa experience” a great one overall…and yet added those small extra touches that implant themselves in your memory. It is a great way to pamper oneself for an hour or so. After you follow the signs to the Spa you enter the office, are greeted in the outer room, sign in, pay, walk through another door and enter an entry area, a few steps more and you proceed to find your locker where you find a robe, towel and sandals. You are free to roam and enjoy as long as you like. The floor plan here is ideal in design and it is isolated from the entryway so you feel alone and on your own, except for the people already using the facility. The dry sauna, wet sauna, restrooms and showers are excellently located away from the restrooms, showers and locker area. You do feel like you are in “your” own private space where the world fades away while you relax and spend some time on yourself. The Spa Dude…Jim Ledbetter Sr.

Novices Beware!
By Anim8R, 4/23/11
Let me begin by saying that this will be a balanced review, some good some bad. The reason I gave Orleans 1 star is because of the hidden fees - or as they say fees in "the fine print." That's why I say "Novices Beware." Because some expect to be charged twice. I was shocked that, after I was charged for my room in advance through Tripres.com, my credit card was charged again by The Orleans. I complained to Orleans and tripres. Neither would reimburse me. I told a tripres.com supervisor that I would not be using their website again. He put me on hold then responded by telling me that, from this day forward, my credit card was blocked from tripres.com Lots of good places to eat at reasonable prices. But the food server was talking to someone the whole time he was serving me. Some of the time he was graphically talking to another employee about was he was going sexually to do to his date. I didn't complain because I was afraid to anger the person handling my food. Close to the strip and freeway with free shuttle service. Nice pool and nice view of mountains from my hotel room. Free live music was nice. Finally, this can be considered good or bad, depending on how sinful you want to get in Sin City: Strip clubs, massage parlors and adult stores are right across the street. Let's just say, with the shady characters walking the streets day and night, I didn't feel very comfortable. Orleans and/or tripres.com supervisors, feel free to contact me if you want to reimburse me for the hidden charges. Yes, tripres.com, I know you blame The Orleans, but I'd still appreciate a refund if you change your mind. Thanks.

Always a pleasure
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/19/10
The Orleans has become our new favorite place to stay in Las Vegas. There are 12 restaurants available, plus shows, a theater, activities for kids and much more. Just as much to do here as any hotel on the strip or downtown, but because of its location (about a mile west of the strip on Tropicana), you save a lot of money. Easy access to anywhere else in town if you have your own vehicle; there is a shuttle available to take you to and from the Strip which runs every half hour. Would recommend to others.

Enjoyed our stay...definitely will return!
By mickeyr, 9/29/10
The rooms were easy to locate, rooms are quite & clean. Excellant room service, as well as checkin & out. Requested a late checkout without a problem. Many choices to eat within casino to fit any budget. And shuttle to strip was easy without any problems. Me & my husband decided to make this our place to stay whenever we go to vegas...Love you ORLEANS! This is a place to choose for people like me & my husband who has passed the "party days/la vida loca stage".

French Market Buffet
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/24/10
We ate at the buffet on Sept. 20th and couldn't believe how the service and food had gone down hill! The food tasted warmed over and old and the help could care less about serving us. Try the Main Street Station Buffet instead - it is excellent! Sam's Town Buffet (another Boyd Casino) is also good.

Love it!!
By wannie, 8/3/10
I have made this hotel my preferred choice in Vegas. I don't go to lounge in a hotel room. I go to play (Golf, Gamble, Shows, Clubs...). The staff are always friendly and accomodating. Parking is free and close to casino. Extra pillows, towels never a problem. I went on St Patricks day and the place was electric. So many inebriated guests. Security handled everyone respectfully and very low key. This could easily have been a night things get out of control. Rooms are spacious and extralarge beds are wonderful. The bartenders even told my wife and I about some little known gratuities. I have been to Orleans four times this year (twice as much as normal) and going in three weeks Some people bring on poor experiences themselves
