Only hotel in the area

It was the only hotel we could find at the end of the River Road so it was convenient for touring the antebellum plantation houses. We almost missed the small sign on I-310. The room and bath were average and overpriced. The beds were comfortable but only double beds (no queen-sized beds) were available. The bathroom had a dead caterpillar and hair on the floor. The reservoir lid on the coffee maker was missing. The ice machine was out of order, so I went up to the second floor. The carpet on the stairs was worn out and torn and hadn't been vacuumed recently. The beds were comfortable and the towels were in good condition. We were greatly amused by breakfast. We received chits to go to the restaurant next door. There we were allowed to help ourselves to a small selection of bagels, mini-donuts, and English muffins. We asked why only Decaf coffee was available. The waiter retrieved the vacuum pump bottle of full-leaded coffee from a table of regular local diners.
