Korkdam Hotel, Accra

The staff are friendly and nice, the hotel is clean, comfortable and cheap. Situated close to the city, its an excellent location. You will not be dissappointed. I am staying there on my next trip to Ghana, which is in a couple months, they made my stay a pleasant one. You will be surprise at the quality of service and prompt response to any request. Everyone where very helpful to my needs. For the price it was a bargain.

THE NEW KORKDAM HOTEL IS VERY BEAUTIFUL, AND A QUIET PLACE TO BE. THEY HAVE WORLD CLASS OF CONFERENCE FACILITIES AND FREE INTERNET ACCESS IN ALL ROOMS

There are 3 Korkdam Hotels. The oldest has now been sold in the area of Asylum Down. The new Korkdam in New Achimota has two parts, the older building now under renovation and a new 31 bed hotel that opened only this year. The standard is generally quite high, and most furnishings are new as of January 2008.

Cleanliness: Undersheets of bed very badly stained. Suspect oversheets may have been left unchanged from one customer to the next although they looked clean. Thoughout 12 days we stayed there, our bed sheets were not changed once even though we requested them to be on one ocassion with the assurance from management that �it will be done�. Strong musty smell particularly on pillows. Overused matresses, pronouced dip in the middle of each. Very noisy air conditioning (would have great trouble sleeping with it switched on) No warm running water (had to ask the management do bring specially warmed water in a bucket to our room). Armchair badly stained and bathroom visibly grimey on walls and tiles. However: staff were quite friendly; great location (very central); and cheap (equivalent to �7.00 per night per person). Bring your own bed sheets and flip flops for the shower.
