HORRIBLE!!!!
By BrandiO, 09/25/09
Me and a friend of mine decided to all of our kids to Memphis for the weekend. We had 4 kids and a 12 week old. This was the worse stay at a hotel compared to all my travels. The parking lot is not big enough to accomidate all their guest so therefore you have to use valet which is not free. $12.00 a night. On top of that we had taken the kids on a carriage ride and it was late when we got back about 12:30 did not feel safe at the back of the hotel at all. When we got in the room kids were wanting something to drink they had a vending machine on the second floor which was out of service. We asked the lady at the desk and she said the hotel next door had a 24 hr open market not knowing what that meant we went next door and basically somebody selling drinks for whatever they want the price to be. We paid 30.00 for 8 - 20ounce drinks. As we are walking outside the hotel next door we see our truck with the windows down and a ton of people standing next to it. We asked the lady at the front desk ( the one who assured us the truck was in a safe parking garage two blocks over) why the truck was next door with the windows down. All she could say was they couldn't get the windows to roll up (by the way this is a yr old expendition nothing wrong with it) so we rolled the windows up for them. Thinking at that point our truck would be put in the garage. The next morning we get up get ready to ck out look out the window and see our truck still sitting next door we go down stair and to our truck and to our amazment our windows are back down and its raining. They couldn't explain all they could do was apologize. During this stay we had also asked for our sheets to be changed and they were never changed. We asked for toothpaste and a toothbrush for one of the kids never got brought to the room. When we checked out I told the lady Shannon of all our problems and she said she would take the valet parking off our bill, Like we were going to pay it anyway... but there was nothing more she could do we pd 175.00 a night for this room and it was horrible. Would NOT RECOMMENDED!!

Good Location downtown area and safe. Trolly picks up out the back door and is also in walking distance for most anything downtown. Good Veiws of the Mississippi River. It is a little hard to find when driving down Front Street! Did have a problem witht eh bathroom door not shutting! Called Front desk and they said they would call me back, never got a call back!

If you ever get to check into the Sleep Inn on Front Street, I hope you're lucky enough to have Shannon R. greet you. She's so helpful and always has a smile on her face (that I've exsperienced!).

not worth the money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/13/08
First,We had to wait until 2:00pm to get a room. Then,It did not smell very clean in the room. Called for a 6:00am wake-up and did not get one. when I checked out they asked if everything was ok. I stated that they did not call for a wake-up at 6:00am. another lady behind the desk replyed,"everybody I was suppost to call got there wake up call." For $129.00 a night + $8.00 to park, at least the staff should'nt treat you like crap. Next time I"ll spend the extra 100.00 to stay in a better hotel. not one that should be next to the interstate charging 29.95 a night.

Great location, cozy hotel
By kelly, 05/14/07
The hotel had prime location right behind the trolley line & stops. Being that the trolley comes by every ten minutes we expected to be woken up but never heard it. Parking was cheap & a car was not needed once checked in, close walking distance to the water & Beale Street.

Poor Choice
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/04/07
Although this is a GREAT location (in between the Pyramid and FedEx Forum) it was a bad choice for our weekend stay. If you arrive early you will be told the rooms are still being cleaned. NO ONE can check in until 3 pm. At 3, there is a mad rush to the desk to get checked in. They allow only 1 car per room so if you are meeting someone there you will be told to park a block away at the Comfort Inn and pay an additional $5. When you check out, Sleep Inn charges you $5 to park in their lot too! Security was a hassle as each time we entered they wanted to know if we were guest of the motel. But I guess that is due to the drunks sleeping in the park out the back exit. And as others have already noted, the room heat/air unit had a loud rattle. $211 with tax (the price was increased because of multiple events in Memphis this weekend) is WAY too much to pay for a room in this motel.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/10/06
We went this past weekend and found the hotel to be a good deal. Nice, clean rooms. Curteous, friendly staff. GREAT location!!! Very reasonably priced. Planning another trip next month and will stay there again.

great location, poor hotel
By Dennis M, 09/06/06
while the location was a great plus, this was the poorest hotel we stayed at on our vacation. the downtown area of memphis is undergoing change but there are still alot of winos and homeless people in the area BEWARE. the hotel now has security in the parking lot but we made sure we parked so we could watch our auto. we then left our car there for the nights we stayed so we wouldn't lose our spot. the breakfast buffet was very poor. we had to beg for more frozen hot pockets and half dollar-size pancakes to be put out. then had to wait in a long line to use the one microwave or one toaster available. there are none in the rooms. the ice machine on two was broken. we were on the first floor. we had to go to the fourth floor which took some time because one elevator was broken. there were two very poor pillows on the bed. when we asked for extras, we were told there were none. bottomline, this is an average hotel. it is close to everything to do in downtown Memphis but do yourself a favor and stay next door at the Springhill Suites by Marriott
