what's that smell?
By Man2th, 01/29/09
Stayed here for the Scranton marathon--everything else was booked. At least it was cheap. The hotel was grungy, the restaurant closed, the location inconvenient, and everything in the room was broken or dirty. And then there was a foul smell in the rooms and hallway. Ugh.

Disappointed
By Melissa, 09/19/08
Not very happy with this hotel. We booked it mostly because of the jaccuzi. In the first room, the A/C didnt work, so they moved us next door. This was fine. Our floor had no air conditioning what-so-ever, the elevator was out of order for an entire day, the pool was very cloudy with a dirty area, the restuarant area was completely shut down (signs posted of renovations but looked like a ghost town) also no A/C in the lobby area or dining area. Breakfast left much to be desired considering you had to pay for the coffee and items weren't refilled. All in all, it's an ok place to have to spend 1 night but we had to stay 4 nights and it definitly wasn't worth the money.

1 night stay is good stopping point
By AngeliaV, 08/04/08
We traveled through Scranton on our way to New England. It was a good 1 night stop. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Basic Hotel. Clean. A little worn here and there. Fine for a 1 night stay. Can't beat the price. Hotel was booked. Many hotels booked in Scranton the weekend we stopped. Book ahead. Staff was very friendly.

My Days Inn
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/16/07
The reason I really would recommend Days Inn because the breakfast was excellent, they offered HBO,and Showtime, and the jacuzzi was comfortable.I wouldn't recommend Days Inn is because one thing is the hotel used to be Holiday Inn,and they left the sign right by the pool area wre you can actually see it,and a million bugs were coming threw a big hole in the screen thats for a garden or something. The sheets didn't stay on the bed, but the location was very helpful for me and my family though.

Very Disappointed!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/07/06
We recently stayed at this hotel and were quite disappointed. Our primary reason for chosing this hotel was the jacuzzi suite. When trying to fill the jacuzzi, the water trickled out of the faucet. It would have taken hours to fill at that rate. We were put in another room and learned after filling the tub, the jets did not work. We were also put in a smoking room after I made a reservation for non-smoking. The room was dirty & you could hear every sound in the adjoining rooms! This continued until 3 am! We were on the 4th floor and could hear the live entertainment downstairs in the lounge! Also during our stay, my boyfriend was not able to access an outside line for his computer to dial in to a work customer who was having a problem. The breakfast they offered was not very appetizing, the lobby was dirty & the girl at the front desk left us waiting several minutes to check in while she was obviously on a personal phone call. Overall, we were quite disappointed in the entire experience and will not ever be returing there nor would I recommend this place to anyone. On a brighter note, we enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Texas Road House (nearby) and a great hockey game at the Wachovia Center in Wilkes Barre.

Don't stay here. They didn't even get the basics right.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/31/06
Horrible hotel. The sheets didn't stay on the bed, the shower curtain was moldy, the towels were dirty, toilets didn't flush right, elevator was broken, no security, and more.

The price is right
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/19/05
For the price it was a nice place to stay. Good location. Free breakfast not that great.I would not recomend the eggs homefries or sausage. The danish was good. Instant sanka decaf was the only decaf available.

Nice place to spend a night!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/09/05
This was a very nice place to spend a night. It was affordable and clean. They had a refrigerator in the room and a restaurant on the premises. Room service is also available although we didn't order anything. Sure it's not a pristine environment, but I wouldn't call it "dirty" or "unclean". Our only complaint was that most of the games in the game room didn't work and it was extremely difficult to find quarters for the games. This is a friendly, quiet place to stay and well worth the cost.

Disgusting room, stay away
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/11/05
On June 23, 2005 we checked into room 211, non smoking. The room was filthy, the tub too dirty to use. We found bugs in both beds along with threadbare dirty sheets. Gave 2 bugs to night manager & stated wouldn't stay there. Being seniors can't drive at night in unfamiliar territory, had to stay to first light to leave. Told manager wouldn't pay, & didn't sign bill on checkout. Today my Visa arrived with the hotel charges. Will never recommend staying at a Days Inn.

Stay FAR away from this hotel...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/09/04
We arrived at this hotel for a wedding weekend stay. Despite being in non-smoking rooms, all of our rooms smelled of smoke. The bathrooms were dirty (we were in a large group, so we got to see a LOT of the rooms). The first morning we woke up to no hot water and no one to fix it. My brother was staying one floor below us in an adjoining room to my mother and due to a snafu with the card reader he got locked out at 10:30 p.m. the night before and was told there was nothing they could do about it until a locksmith arrived the next morning. We were traveling with our 6-month-old and were horrified when the front desk clerk said this happened "often." When asked what they would do if there were a baby in the room, she replied, "I don't know. I guess we'd call 911." Nice. The hotel restaurant is not anyplace I would even set foot in. It is dark, dank and just as disgusting as the rest of the hotel. There is a pool. But after our experience with the dirty room, dirty bathroom and general state of filth everywhere else, there was no way we were going near it. Everyone who was there with us that weekend was going right home to call their credit card companies and make them deny payment for the room charges. STAY AWAY.
