The offsite so called private cabins, are not private at all. You are pretty much staying in a guest bedroom of someones house. We made the best of it but when we mentioned it to the owners of Wildwood they were extremely rude. We would never stay with them again.

Terrible Customer Service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/21/09
We totalled our truck on our way to our honeymoon trying to get up to Wildwood Inn, and the GM/Owner refused to refund us our money even though we did not stay there at all, and had a pathetic story to boot. Instead they said they would be nice and give us a gift card for some of the deposit, they said they usually just keep all the deposit on cancellations so beware. We live in texas and we will not be able to make it back before the gift card expires, I'm sure that is what they are hoping for. The cancellation was called immediately but it was not cancelled within 30 days according to thier policy. I only booked the room two weeks before we were to stay there though. They don't even know what customer service and repeat business is. Thanks for nothin Wildwood....

Perfect in every way
By Leighann, 09/24/08
We arrived late and our key and room information was left for us to find easily. We were delighted with our suite, including fireplace, King-sized bed with top of the line linens and down comforter. My wonderful partner had ordered the romance package which was very nicely done. Part of the package included heavy, warm robes (a note left for us very clearly stated that if we took any of the items including robes, champagne bucket or flower vase, we would be charged as they were not included in the package price, but we were welcome to purchase any items we wanted at the office) The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, tableware, pots and pans, dish soap, dish towels, etc. and our arrival letter let us know that if we wanted our garbage picked up, to leave it outside the door and it would be gathered. Because we are environmentally conscious, we chose to reuse our towels during our stay, however could have left them in the bag provided on a hook outside the door and the would have been replaced as often as we wanted. The room was very nicely furnished and comfortable, and the hotel is 1/2 mile from the gate to Rocky Mountain State Park. Caroline, who we met in the office, went out of her way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. We mentioned possibly using the private hot tub available to guests and she called us the last afternoon of our stay to see if we wanted to reserve any time that evening. We did and it was WONDERFUL. Our last night we were even fortunate to have a bull elk and his ladies entertain us in the front yard. We appreciated not having daily cleaning as we tend to sleep different hours than "normal" and are very neat, so we weren't disturbed and only had to quickly make the bed and we were off on our day. Fire wood was left at our door for our evening enjoyment and anything we might need, we just needed to call the office. We loved our stay, and will most definately be back again.

Just don't ask for toilet paper!
By Kathleen, 09/18/07
I paid over 2500.00 for a weeks stay for my entire extended family. We had three rooms. On the second day our sons (who were staying in a separate room ran out of T.P. I went to the office and was "lucky" enough to get the manager. She informed me that I couldn't have any unless I provided her with the empty roll! Since they had thrown it away (and by he way you are required to empty your own trash into a communal dumpster) I had to FIGHT her to get it. I have never been treated so rudely. As others have mentioned, it's incredibly hot (we were there in June)and has NO shade. I can say that the location is great, and the price on a small room in off-season is very cheap. Otherwise, WATCH OUT.

NEVER AGAIN!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/08/07
Terrible "business practices". Awful management, beautiful squashed spider on the wall above the bed left for us. Charge 15% extra for house keeping. Estes is beautiful, but WWI has HORRIBLE PEOPLE, NEVER AGAIN!

Worst experience in Estes Park
By Elgn, 05/08/07
Initially our trip started off wonderful. We purchased the breakfast basket as well as the Stanley Hotel dinner and Limo service around Estes park. The stay itself was good. The room could have used a good cleaning before we arrived, but initially we overlooked this because it was our honeymoon. The entire stay went well without incident. However after we returned home, due to a mistake on the part of hotel management, we assumed that we were allowed to remove a pair of Wildwood Inn robes from our room. When the mistake was discovered we offered to drive the 1+ hour to return them free of charge and said nothing more of the situation. The staff at the Wildwood Inn decided that the best course of action was to charge us $75 + tax per robe, and before we could even attempt to return them, they had made the charge on our credit card. Annoyed we attempted to contact the Inn and let them know of their mistake and that we were going to return the robes the next day. Instead of reacting rationally and professionally, the Wildwood staff said that they were going to file Theft charges against us for removing the robes from our room. That's right, they were going to press charges on us for stealing something that they had already charged us for. While attempting to resolve that issue the staff stated that if we continued to try and resolve this conflict through email or phone calls that they were going to press harrassment charges against my wife and I. Stunned we decided that the best course of action would be for us to FedEx the robes back and await a refud on our credit card. Compared to any other establishment in Estes Park the Wildwood Inn not only fails in all catagories, but stands out in amount of hassle and professionalism. If you would like more information on how the Wildwood Inn operates I would personally suggest you take a look at their record with the Better Business Bureau, I wish we would have before our stay.

Not for families
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/16/07
We won a gift certificate to wildwood that sleeps four. I tried to make reservations for our family of five with our youngest an infant that would sleep in a pack and play and they said sorry this suite is only for two even though our certificate says it sleeps four. They told me we had to pay extra for our children and upgrade to a larger room. Finally we agreed to pay extra when they changed the story and said we cant get a larger room and and we can only stay in this suite. So I asked again if our baby could sleep in a pack and play and they said they cant allow five to sleep in a room for four because its a fire code. Let me assure you my husband works with fire codes and that is not a fire code. The front desk hung up on me and I called back to talk to the manager/owner who called me a deceitful person and who hung up on me as well. I tried to call one more time and they told me to give the gift certificate away. So if you want to take your family on a trip do not take them to Wildwood Inn which charges for little children and will not allow a family to stay.

Never again
By T H, 07/22/06
We stayed in mid July, and found the staff to be incredibly unhelpful. The place has no A-C and if you are in a west facing unit you cook, the windows are the cheapest you can buy, none worked right and one didn't open at all. The place had ant traps everywhere but there were still plenty of ants. There was one light out and one that worked part of the time. The step up over and into the bathtub was almost too much for a health person, no way someone with mobility issues could get into it. Due to the heat you leave windows open, there was a set of noisy stairs close buy so you got to hear everyone coming and going very plainly. The lock to the patio was broke and when I told the staff the tried to blow it off, I insisted it be fixed. Try to ask for everyday stuff like trash bags or toilet paper and they acted like it killed them to help you, we went and bought our own.

mom and dad getaway
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/25/06
We recently staied at wildwood inn and loved every min of it. If you are looking for wildlife, pleasent staff, and clean rooms its the place to be. We had a 1 bed, kitchen, fireplace, and a deck with our own privet hot tub. It was so relaxing we didn't want to leave. You might have to wash your dishes and clean up after youself, but in my opinion it's a home away from home. Would you want to pack a kitchen with you? You have plates and all. you could always eat out every night, but that can be costly. The sweetest thing I saw that warmed my heart and really set them apart for me was this sweet message to there guests. Reading it I knew we were in good hands. I'm not goning to tell you the message you'll just have to find it when you stay. I'll give you a hint it sits on top of the fireplace (at least in our room it did). Thanks Wildwood Inn for making us feel at home, we will see you again soon!!!
