What a rip-off

I made reservations six weeks in advance for the nights of Wed, Thu, and Fri. When I did so the staff there bragged that we would be the first ones to stay in a newly remodeled room. When we arrived though, we were very disappointed. Parking was a hassle. The room, with two full size beds was so small you couldnt hardly turn around. Our view of
the river was unlike what other guests had since it was through a shattered window, and I think the only room in the place without a balcony. And the fire alarm hung from the ceiling by the wires. My complaints did me no good. The bathtub was broken, the hot water faucet was cold, and the cold one was
hot. This room shouldnt have been rented, it wasnt ready. Two big air conditioners which I think cooled the lobby were outside our shattered window and ran all night, so opening the window for fresh air was out of the question. The pool was about the size of two hot tubs put together and crowded at
times. The continental breakfast was a good value but their little dining room only seated about 20 people. Since taking food back to your room is forbidden, a 15 or 20 minute wait to get a table was normal. Again, my complaints got me nowhere. The only reason we lasted this long was because the city was all booked up, and they had my visa number, so I couldnt back out. The goocher came Friday, after I was electronically locked out of the room and had to have my key card reprogrammed. I was then informed that I would be charged an additional $35, (the weekend rate) for a Friday night. That is when the stuff really hit the fan, and our stay was cut short. Even after all my complaints, they had no interest in trying to make this guest happy and wanted more money too. Granted, I stayed there two nights so I didnt expect a 100% refund, but I thought at least half off was deemed. When all was said and done they offered me 20% off my next stay. Even after writing their corporate, it seems that their
100% guarantee means nothing because this motel is privately owned, and they dont have to honor such a guarantee. So they got $280 of my money, but be assured, they wont get any more of it.
