Hotel La Vallee Blanche, Chamonix-Mont-Blanc

This hotel, when I was there, was family run. A wonderful French couple with two children managed the hotel with the same care and attention they would give their own home. I felt very welcome, relaxed, and comfortable. The hotel is located in centre-ville. It's right in the middle of all the great boutiques, brasseries, restaurants, and only seconds from the ski lifts (amazing in the summer too!) The hotel's restaurant is known for it's excellent food. The restaurant itself is basically the entire ground floor, but what's unique is that a portion of it is literally over the L'Arve (the glacier-fed river). It makes for a romantic dinner with the sound of the rushing water; quite soothing. As you can tell, I loved my stay. I highly recommend visiting.
