Don't bother asking for handicap support.

Our reservation request was for two adjoining rooms, one with handicap features. My elderly father has Alzheimers and a wheelchair and we needed a room next to him to be sure he didn't fall or wander.
We got two rooms at opposite ends of the hall and a bathroom that could not accomodate his handicap needs, and it had flushing problems. The desk clerk politely told us that nothing is guaranteed in the hotel industry, but that he'd gladly let us use his phone to go somewhere else. We should have taken him up on his offer. We were extremely disappointed since we had made the reservations a month earlier and had no where else we could go.
