Deplorable conditions Need to boil all water, cannot drink or use at all. Front desk or res. do not tell you that. Front desk only gives yopu 1 gallon of water, Bugs in condo, phone does not work , cell does not work.
No air conditioner , it was 90 outside but had to boil water all the time so it was at least 100 + inside , 1 fan 1 celing fan. do not stay , people next door had no TV.
Save your 200.00. not worth it. Remember need to boil all water it is bad . I would give it no stars if I could.
Check-in staff was friendly and reservation staff was very helpfull. Location was very good. We stayed in a corner room, time-share style condo. 2 adults, 2 children, $150.00/night. If you are offered a room in the condos, decline it and find someplace else. Here's why.....
Expected it to be croweded, but this was very cramped. BE AWARE...You must wash the dishes AND put them away before you leave or you will be charged.
Looked clean on the surface but don't look into the kitchen drawers...they are quite grubby. Sofa needed a good shampooing. I could see where years of greasy heads and hands had landed.
Uncomfortable Murphy bed and fold out sofa. Sheets were thin and there was no mattress cover. Too much big furniture for the size of the room. We were in constant danger of stubbing toes and banging shins. Built in the 70's and decorated in the worst garage-sale style. Nothing changed or updated. It was very clear this room was set up with someone's left overs. Frying pans were so thin, I may as well have cooked the chicken directly on the stove burner.
A tip envelope was left by house keeping, but there was no house keeping done while we were out for the day. As I said earlier, we were expected to wash, dry and put away the dishes before we left.
I'm sure the other places for rent under Yosemite West Cottages management are fine, maybe even fantastic. $150./night was all we could afford but even at that price I felt taken advantage of.
Our trip was fantastic, The "cottage" we stayed in was a LOG HOME !! Very large and spacious!! Ssitting out on the front porch being up among the trees and looking down to the road below was so enriching, Altho the cottage was just a few feet above where we parked, but we were looking out thru the trees, The sunsets were undescribable!! We found the cottage very well stocked and furnished. The Staff were very helpful in helping us decide where we wanted to go and what we wanted to do. They asked us what we liked to do and what we'd like to see then they made suggestions for us and they were very accurate in their directions and suggestions even recommending we take clothes. They said that there are places in the park that the temp is very different. Like at Curry Village, In winter no direct sun gets in there so it is alot colder than in the Visitor center area where there is sun and a number of days due to the enviroment there people are often comfortable in tee shirts and jeans when the temp is 37 degrees!! We did talk to other people renting in the area and saw what they had. We didn't find any as friendsly or wanting us to have the best time we could as the staff at Yosemite West Cottages. I have told a number of my friends a bout or stay. This was our first time we stayed at Yosemite West Cottages. This experience we had. We have been back 4 more times since then. The staff has been constsistant with wanting to make our trip each time the best we could have. We have seen them also go beyond in trying to help others not even staying in their accomidations have the best time possible. I can't really describe how wonderful they made ouor trips and how my family was able to enjoy our time together. II can't leave contact info her but contact them, stay at their cottages and have a great time! Thank you again staff for all your help and suggestions every time!!
We have stayed in Yosemite Valley many times. This time we stayed in a cabin at Yosemite West. The "house" was very quiet, unlike Curry Village. We had a front row view of the sunset every night. My wife packed a picnic for our lunch in the park, and we BBQ at the cabin while watching 2 deers graze in the forest. My faimly had a Great time!
