This is an excellent place to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/13/06
I was recently read the reports on yahoo about the Savannah Lodge, in: Savannah, TN. Being a frequent visitor, myself and my family, to this lodge I was dismayed, shocked and angry to see the malicious debasement to this fine motel’s character and to the outright lies about the owners attitude, demeanor and the service. I have always seen the owners begin work between 6 AM and 7 AM. Coffee is always ready by 6:30 AM and Sam & Ragini begin doing the room services as soon as the people check out. This is a business and being personable is making people want to come back. One other fact: The owners live at the Savannah Lodge, not in Michigan and the owners are the managers. I am aware of how far these people will go to please guests. They have hair dryers, irons, ironing boards and many other items for use by patrons. They also have a fridge and a microwave in each room. The furniture is of high quality and the beds use posturepedic mattresses. All double rooms have queen size beds and single rooms are king size beds. Another fact: This motel is consistently inspected by the health officials and always gets top ratings. Each room is thoroughly cleaned each time it is used this includes the drawers, fridge and microwave. I know this because I left items in a drawer and Sam retrieved them and called my house before I was even home and later proceeded to send them to me at his expense. Savannah Lodge is also the chosen motel for several large companies doing work in this area on a regular basis because of the owners flexibility, honesty, and desire to please it’s patrons. Those writeups which portrayed Savannah Lodge as “comparable to a cheap, classless 'no-tell' motel” were bogus and in my opinion a deliberate attempt to mar it’s reputation and injure the business these young people have worked so hard and diligently to attain. The innuendos made as to whom wrote those previous reviews was another slanderous attempt to mar the integrity of the motel. I am one of those people who wrote one of those reviews, I have stayed in many hotels being retired from the armed forces and constantly traveling; and, I am a real person, and resent most highly the allegation those may have been contrived. My views on this motel are the same now as when I wrote the first review of this motel. I will not hide behind the anonymity of a computer. My name is Don Salls. I can be found in the phone book in Savannah, TN. I lived in this motel for a month while waiting to buy my house . I have had my children, aunt, and father stay here also when they come to visit.

Not even deserving of a star. . .
By Mandy, 09/15/06
I was in the company of the person writing the above review and can verify every word. I did not want to touch anything or even to walk in the room without my shoes on (this was even before the contents of the drawer were found). The place was filthy and in ill repair. Complaining was a moot point as there was no one in the office during the business hours posted on the door! I'm not certain if there were previous owners who took better care of the facility or if the current owners wrote their own fake reviews to fool people trying to make an internet reservation, but take my word for it -Don't waste your time here!

Horrible
By Kevan, 09/14/06
I didn't like anything about this hotel. I read the reviews listed here and made a reservation. I was in for a huge surprise. This place was NOTHING like any previous review. I found my room to be dingy and dirty, comparable to a cheap, classless 'no-tell' motel. The tub was filthy. The drain didn't drain properly. So, the tub filled while showering. I opened a drawer next to the bed to find an empty food container with half-eaten food and a large, empty box of personal lubricant. Finally, I tried to check out of the hotel and could not get service. No clerk was around. I rang the after hours bell from 7am to 10am without any reply. Finally, I called a number I found in the room. On the other end was the owner who happened to be at home in Michigan (This is not a locally owned hotel). She was rude and told me the desk clerk made a quick trip to the bank. After waiting another 15 minutes, I watched the desk clerk come out of the back all sleepy-eyed. He finally let me in. He was also rude. In the end, I paid for a substandard room. My reservation was for two days. But, 16 hours turned out to be too much time in a dump like this.

A GREAT EXPERIENCE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/22/05
While visiting Savannah, TN, we stayed at the Savannah Lodge as recommended by our friends. The Lodge is VERY comfortable and clean and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Maps, restaurant menus, and many brochures were provided to make our stay as pleasant as possible. It is in a secure, convenient location to shopping, restaurants, and tourist attractions. Not only do I recommend the lodge to other travelers, I will not hesitate to stay in Savannah Lodge again. A+++++ Motel.

A really nice place to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/28/05
The Savannah lodge was close to everything, maps of scenic places, restraunt menu avail for all restraunts in area. owner operated so service was excellent, and they give it the "extra touch" to insure a positive stay. They were very helpful, courteous and made it a pleasant experience. This was one of the best places I have had the pleasure to stay in.
