Fairfield Inn Suites Canton, Canton

This hotel was awful. The photos on the 'net are not of this hotel. It is small, old and dirty. No lobby, a sure sign of trouble. B-fast area is a hotel room converted to hold a microwave & tables. The place was smelly & noisy. You hear everything. Pool is small. Beware - they charge you more than the price you book on the 'net.

I booked and paid for our room through Orbitz but when we got to the hotel they swiped my debit card for what they said was just 'incidentals'. When we first went to our room the place was a mess and the bed un-made. We complained and were given another room. Later when we got home and checked our online banking I noticed that they had double charged us for the room! We have since called them two-three time and they say that they posted the refund to the debit card but it has been more than two weeks and I have not seen a cent! Save yourself the hassle and stay at the Comfort Suites that is right next door.

We had not stayed in a Fairfield Inn before and there are no pictures of this actual hotel anywhere on the web, not even on the Marriott site, other than the outside of the building. We booked the room and we were very pleased with the overall experience. The room and bathroom were very clean. The beds were very comfortable. The pool was very nice also. It was small and only 3 ft and 4 ft deep, however, we had the pool to ourselves most of the time. The hot tub was very nice. We were very impressed with the breakfast. They have Jimmy Dean egg biscuits that you can heat in the microwave, muffins, bagels, cereal, etc. The best part were the freshly made waffles! It was located very close to a large mall and many choices of restaurants close by. We would stay here again!

We come down often to visit our daughter in college and this place is always very clean friendly and a pleasant place to stay. The rooms are always clean beyond our expectations.

Although the hotel was clean, we'll never go again to any Fairfield. When we arrived in our room, the toilet had backed up. After contacting the front desk, they arrived at our room and handed us a plunger and said that was all they could do. We tried to remedy the problem ourselves for over an hour with no success and contact the desk again. They said they couldn't do anything because they didn't have anyone on staff for maintenance after 5:00, and told us we could go to the WalMart and see if "We" could find something to fix it! We asked to be moved to another room and they said they couldn't do that either. Me and my family had to use the bathroom in the lobby all night. When I complained multiple times, the front desk said "sorry, there's nothing we can do". I've never been so angry and humiliated before...having to go to the restroom by the lobby/pool area every time we needed to use it was absolutely unreasonable. I lodged a complaint with Fairfield -- no response; left complaint for manager -- no response; even responded to the survey THEY SENT ME explaining problems --- no response. Contacted Marriott -- no response.
