Hotel Le Clos Medicis, Paris

The hotel is in a great location and the rooms are beautifully renovated. The bathroom, though somewhat small, had an amazing shower/tub with great water pressure and very pleasing decor. The bed was very comfortable. Even though there was some construction going on less than a block away, you couldn't hear it through the well-insulated windows. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The lobby was very inviting and always had a fire lit in the fireplace. I would certainly stay there again.

The rooms, while very small, are very clean. The hotel location is excellent - just between the Sorbonne and the Luxembourg Gardens just off Rue de St Germaine. It is very quiet and the staff is very, very helpful.

This is very easy to get to from the Airport. The train line from DeGaulle stops less than a block away. The rooms are very clean, and the staff was delightful. It's just off the Saint Germain des Pres, all downhill to the Seine.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel when we were in Paris for Thanksgiving in 2005. My cousin lives as a expat in Paris and he recommended this hotel. It was a nice hotel with good amenities. The entrance/lounge area were recently remolded and its very nice cozy space, which is perfect to sit and have a coffee or drink and talk in front of the fireplace. The one downside is if you get the room we originally were placed (don't know the number). We got back from dinner and our room had filled with smoke from the fireplace, because it wasn�t vented properly. The hotel moved our rooms and gave us comp breakfast. Our new room was fine. Overall, a nice place that was clean and the price was fair. The location is very nice, because it�s just walking distance to Luxemburg park along with many of the great attractions in Paris.

We liked everything about the hotel apart from being given a room one floor above where the elevator reached. Whilst the room itself was fine, it was difficult to struggle through a doorway concealng the final staircase, up steep stairs and through another doorway to reach the actual room door. We had made the reservation several weeks in advance and would have appreciated a room with better access. The breakfast was rather expensive but very good and the breakfast room attractive. Hotel staff, at reception, at the breakfast room and the cleaning people, were all polite, pleasant and helpful.

I agree with many of the other reviews. Clos Medicis has a lot of charm, the staff is wonderful, and a nice breakfast is included. Although the rooms are small,the point of travelling is to see the city - and the location cannot be beat. So much is within walking distance. It is also on a quite side street - so sleeping peacefully is a non-issue. When we return - this is the hotel we are staying at.

Le Clos Medicis is on a quiet side street in a very nice neighborhood. There is only a very short walk to the Latin Quarter, Notre Dame, and a little further to the Louvre. Actually, the walk to the Champs Ellyses through the Tuilleries is very pleasant. My husband and I highly recommend this hotel, which is stylishly furnished, very comfortable, and has a pleasant, hospitable, helpful staff who were always concerned with our comfort and best interests. The staff members speak excellent English too!

Had a nice room at the back of the hotel with a nice patio with chairs and a table. The staff was very good! Very small but nice place will stay at the hotel the next time I am in Paris

The hotel staff was great and the service was excellent. The rooms and bathrooms are small but clean and attractive (and air conditioned). Great location for sightseeing. Next time we are in Paris we will stay here again. Staying at Le Clos Medici was a wonderful experience!
