Very Pleasant Experience
By ,
It was a perfect place to stay for the two of us! The hotel was clean, friendly, and in a great location for everything we wanted to do.The beds were comfortable---the bathroom was large---but above all it was immaculate !!The staff was also very courteous and attentive to our needs. The breakfast was quite impressive: cereal, fruit, fruit juice, coffee, toast, bagels, waffles, french toast, coffee and hot chocolate! Nice!

Might stay here again for one night
Me, my husband and two friends stayed at this hotel for a short vacation. We had separate rooms and our room was ok. It was a little old but clean. Our friends stayed in the room next to us and didnt have a good room experience. They had no phone in the room and a pair of womens underwear had been left in their bathroom so we dont know the last time it was cleaned. My bad experience was with the front desk. When arriving I went to check in and the lady at the front was on her cell and when she finally finished her conversation long enough to see what I wanted she was very short and not nice at all. She cont. her phone call as she checked us in and then I guess not paying attention she messed everything up not once but twice. She finally got off the phone but then was very rude acting like it was our fault she had messed up the process.

Cheap for a reason
By ,
Breakfast was one the cheap side. I wouldn't wake-up early for it. The room was fairly clean...could have been better. Restroom was dirty. The outlets are old and loose so cords keep falling out. I had to get the iron swapped out. The old one was broken. The furniture is very old and the chair was barely staying together. The beds sheets, well...I wouldn't trust 'm. Good thing I had 2 blankets in my car. No complaints on service. I'm pretty low maintenance, so other than the iron, which they quickly replaced, I didn't need anything and I had no issues checking in or checking out. I did however notice that the ladies working there hang out at the desk and talk a LOT. The one, young indian lady is on the phone constantly with friends. I paid $55 a night....In the end, just be aware that with this hotel, you get what you pay for.

Never Again
By ,
This hotel was horrendous. It was filthy. There were actual little piles of dirt at the corners of the bathtub and the bottom of the tub was slick from the layers of soap scum. The paint was peeling and there was water damage (and I'm sure mold) on the ceiling. It was absolutely gross. The window shade was only partially held up by hooks and had moth holes in it. The comforter and blanket had cigarette burns in them. The desk was a chipped folding table. And the couch looked like it came straight from my barracks room when I was stationed overseas. On our first night there, they finally got around to servicing the room at 6:00 PM, after we called the front desk. Then the housekeeping staff acted irritated that we expected someone to come and give us new towels, which were threadbare. The only reason we stayed there past the first night was because there was a soccer tournament going on and this was the only hotel that had any room left within a 45 minute drive. Big surprise there. We will never stay there again. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. If I could give it 0 stars I would.

I think Mrs. Patel needs Therapy.
By ,
My new job requires me to stay for several weeks at a time in different cities. I was made reservations yesterday at this Days Inn in Huntington WV so my wife could have an address to send my high blood pressure medicine to. I came by at 11 am to inquire about a ground floor room. Mrs. Patel was on the phone but she looked up long enough to tell me they were booked last night and did not have any ground floor rooms ready and to come back later. I went to lunch, wandered around Wal Mart and set in the car and read a book. I went back at 2 pm and Mrs. Patel became rude and loud. She said she had told me to come back at 12:30 pm and when I did not report back at that time she gave my room to others. I told her that I did not hear her say a time but it really should not be necessary because I had a reservation and my company had paid for the room. She told me again that she had no ground floor rooms available. I am old and have bad knees that don't climb stairs well so I asked her if I could come back later. She then became very loud and said there would not be any ground floor rooms available for a seven nights stay. The better ground floor rooms are available for overnighters. She had me so upset that when she asked if I wanted to cancel my reservation I said that if she was not going to honor it then of course, yes. After thinking about the way I was being treated I asked her for the Days Inn corporate phone number. She told me I could look it up for myself and since the reservation had been cancelled I should leave before she "called someone". I asked for her supervisors name and she told me that she and her husband owned the place and he is not available. Poor man. Now it gets better. I called Days Inn corporate and was told that I cannot file a complaint unless I had stayed there. I asked how I could stay there if they refused to honor the reservation? There is a very nice Red Roof Inn directly behind the Daze Inn and I am looking at their backparking lot. There are over 30 rooms on the back side of just one of the buildings but there is only 6 cars parked there. I guess the other ground floor guest walked in. Will I stay at a Days Inn again? I travel about 3 weeks of every month but I believe I can do better.

Sleazy and Cheap
By ,
This hotel's pictures must have been taken when it was built 20 years ago. The service staff were, at best, disinterested. Our toilet backed up and it took them over 5 hours to fix it! Holes in the walls, cheap mis-matched furniture, no outlet available on the vanity (because they put the fridge and microwave there!), door handle and lock did not work properly (a real security hazard).... in short the only good thing was the room was clean. If you are looking for the usual Days Inn... this is NOT it. Go down the road to the Best Western or Hampton Inn in Barboursville!!!

Nice hotel
By ,
I really liked the extra pillows, and the nice location. I slept so good and conforable, I didn't want to get up. I liked that they had a fridge, and I didn't care too much for the outdoor pool. The shower was a little hard to figure out how to turn on. The rooms were very clean and tidy. I liked the nonsmoking rooms, which was a convinence to me. Basically, the room is very suitable for people looking for a hotel to spend the night in.
