Sleep Inn Meridian, Meridian

Do not for any reason consider this property. I called the hotel directly prior to my trip to see if they had high speed wireless access. I was told yes. They do not. The place was a dump and the staff very unfriendly. Do not stay here!

We had reservations for 18 rooms to house 3 girls' softball All-Star teams for a State Tournament to be held in Meridian. All the parents had called and made reservations as well and had confirmation numbers. Upon arrival - they had only reserved "8" rooms for our teams and OVER BOOKED the parents rooms. Several parents were turned away even though they had confirmation numbers. They were told they had no rooms. They were also told that they didn't have any more rooms available. Some of the parents had to stay across town in another hotel - away from their children. The managment made no attempt to find other accomodations for the parents who didn't get rooms. After 2-3 hours of trying to get everything worked out and rooms for all we could - we witnessed people, not with our party, driving up, walking in and asking for a room AND GIVEN ONE!!!!! They never admitted that they had made an error. On top of everything - the managment was not fluent in the english language and had a hard time communicating with us. It made the trip a very frusterating and unpleasant trip. I do not recommend groups traveling to this hotel.
