MOLDY BATHROOM DO NOT STAY HERE
By Tammie, 4/18/10
We stopped at the Days Inn on the way to Baton Rouge at 2am in the morning we had been up almost 24 hrs and I couldn't make it another 4 more hrs. We should have stayed at the rest area it would have been cleaner. We got our room and told the clerk we would be out by 7am any discounts for active duty military? No. It was gross the sheets and room was dirty, but when you are tired you don't care. My husband woke up to take a shower and when he got in it he was so disgusted with the shower curtain was covered in mold and it smelled so bad there. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL EVER. So we went to the front desk and told the girl on duty she apologized and we asked to talk to the manager at this moment the OWNER walked in Mr.Jerry Sharpin my husband asked him if he was the owner and he said he was then my husband told him about the mold and how the room was not very clean he didn't even look at my husband said we will take care of it. Now if I was the owner I would have been embarrassed and offered a refund. It was as if he had heard it all before and didnt care I made sure I got his name and made sure I spelled it right. Heres to you Mr. Sharpin shame on you.

Go for any alternative

Room was filthy and worn out. It had not been cleaned for a while. Trash cans were still filled with garbage from previous occupants. The only chair broke, causing some discomfort. Breakfast was not only bad, it had to be eaten either standing up or on a greasy sofa. Over $60 for this is a shame.

Be afraid, be very afraid
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/9/08
Let's just say this, I was scared to touch anything at this hotel. I had to endure 2 nights at this place and my stomach turns everytime I think about it. Even one of the locals looked at me crazy when I told them where we were staying. This place should be condemned! I am not kidding. It's nasty!

Not worth it
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/6/08
I asked for a room for two nights, but the desk worker, who has a strong accent apparently understood "tonight". I was quite pleased at the idea of paying $65 for two nights, but I paid that for one! I got a call after the first night, shortly after the checkout time, asking if I would need another hour to check out (at a fee). I replied that I had booked the room for two nights, and went to the front desk to discuss the problem, where the previous confusion was revealed. I was asked if I really thought it was possible to pay $32 for a night in a hotel! I don't expect to be mocked for a mistake on their part when I go to a hotel! I have paid less money for better rooms in places where the cost of living is much higher. The rooms, despite being relatively recently renovated, were of shoddy construction (the toilet rocks and tilts), and does NOT have microwave and a fridge, but does have a free wireless connection. (The nearby PJs coffee shop does as well, so this should not be a selling point.)

This Days Inn was completely unacceptable
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/4/07
I had booked rooms back in Aug for the annual Christmas Festival of Lights in this beautiful little town. There was a 2 night minimum required and I had to sign a contract, which was mailed to me. I thought this was a bit strange but figured that because of the festival and the volume of people that would be visiting the small town, this was probably standard practice. I see now why it was required because if you see the hotel first, you would immediately ask for a refund and go elsewhere. The first rooms that we were shown to looked like something found at a truckstop or something you would see in a cheap movie. I asked for a refund that night but the managed told me she would show me to "better" rooms. These rooms were only slightly better than the first and had it not been so late and had I not had my 76 year old mother with me, we would have looked for other lodging. The a/c didn't work (fan only), no hot water, holes in the box springs, stains on the mattress, no clock, no iron/ironing board, dirty toilet, the coffeemaker poured coffee all of the counter, looked as though a dog had chewed the night stand up, old stained bedspread, and musty smelling. I took pictures just in case I had trouble getting a refund. My sisters drove to the nearest grocery store to purchase Lysol spray to freshen the room up. We checked out immediately after one night and asked for a refund but was refused. I was charged $120 per room per night, double the normal rate and then had to go elsewhere to pay for another room on top of this. I have filed a dispute with my credit card company and would not recommend this Days Inn to anyone. Certainly not up to my standards or to the standards that I believe are required by Days Inn Corporation. I've written a comment on the Days Inn Corporate website and will be writing a letter personally to the President of Days Inn Corporation.
