On 10/2/2010 around 6:45 PM, a greeter at the main entrance demanded me to show my Photo ID. I had a health insurance card, a car insurance card, a Bank of America card with my photo, as well as my membership card. ALL forms of ID. The sign at the front says that players must have a Photo ID. It doesn’t say that the ID must be a Driver's License. A DL is only necessary when players win over $500 (and must pay Miss. state tax), and when players consume alcohol. I'm a 31 years old. I've patronized the establishment since 2008. I have a membership ID, which validates that I am over 18 years of age to enter the casino, and over 21 to consume alcoholic beverages. The greeter would not accept any of my IDs. I later re-entered the building so that Cashiers could assist in proving my identification. The addresses on my insurance cards match the address Isle of Capri has on file. I could verify my identity with the customer-created PIN number. The greeter, along with a 2 security guards and a Black female approached me and my mother. They were aggressive in their approached. My mother and I were angrily escorted out of the building. The female continued to follow behind us even though the remaining security team had already stopped following us. No one should be treated like this. We weren't intoxicated, nor did we violate any policy. I'm asking the BBB to work with Isle of Capri personnel to revise their security and verification policy. Policies should NOT be discriminatory OR target certain individuals. No one else was asked to present their ID. Only me. This is blatant age discrimination. If the policy is that identification must be verified, then ALL patrons should be checked. Why would Isle of Capri offer membership if I was not of age? Why would the establishment require a photo ID when they've already issued a card? A simple solution to the problem is for Isle of Capri to create new Member cards with a photo of the patron.
