BUYER BEWARE! Can I give a negative rating?
By Ellie, 09/04/09
This had to be my worst experience in a hotel. The beds were so hard that I would have been more comfortable sleeping on the carpet if it wasn't so gross. I've heard old wives tales that some Indian (from India) like to sleep on a bed of nails.. or was that Asian people. Anyhow I prefer something a little softer than that. Besides the fact that anytime you moved you would hear the plastic that was still left on the mattress. There was mold and mildew in the bathroom. The furniture was pretty worn and the security fence (wire) around the perimeter left much to be desired. They also just had screw locks on the windows and nothing more. The only positive thing I can think of regarding our stay there was when we checked out! Pay a little more and stay somewhere else.. this place is a huge waste of money. I should have spent a little more and stayed at the Holiday Inn Express or the Grand Canyon Railway hotel. That's where I stayed the last time I visited. Worth spending a few extra bucks.. TRUST ME!

worst hotel
By sara, 07/08/09
They are professional thieves . We booked the hotel online but they wanted more money when we arrived there. This hotel was very dirty. There wasn,t any good breakfast. No chairs or tables to seat and eat your breakfast. The manager I guess was Indian(from India). He was extremely rude. I would go and find a lawyer. They have give our money back.

Lack of Courtesy
By Naomi, 09/10/07
My husband, a friend and I arrived at this hotel where we have prior reservation for 2 rooms. We called for service since there was nobody at the front desk. A lady show up with lack of education, bad attitude and poor dressed. I asked her for check in. She looked in the computer and nothing show up but we have the confirmation number. She wants to charge us more of what our reservation was. Finally after many inconvenience with the lady and many excuses dificult to understand her, due to her lack of English, we decided to cancel and went to Econo Lodge Hotel in the Main St where the personnel and services were oustanding. Mrs Patel was her name and she need to take a course in customer service and English. We did not got into a room, but it might be as dirty as the welcome area. I do not reccommend this hotel.

Family Friendly, Family Owned Hotel
By Raymond, 11/18/06
Our stay at this hotel was relaxing. The breakfast was simple but filling. The pool was nice and heated, the hot tub however was out of order. Our room was clean, and the beds were better than average. The owners were kind and gave the hotel a special essence of personal hospitality.

Most helpful Hotel ever!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/04/06
We were travelling to Williams when we had a minor car accident - managed to get the rental car to the Howard Johnson (where we had reservations) parking lot at around 11:00 p.m.; the car then stopped. We checked in and the next morning the hotel owner helped us find a towing company, called to find us a tour to the Grand Canyon, as we no longer had a car, and he knew the tour companies(and was known by them); he looked after getting our car towed to the repair dealer while we continued our vacation. He recommended local restaurants. The next morning, he drove us to Flagstaff to pick up our car. Can't get any better service than that!

Don't stay at Howard Johnson in Williams,AZ!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/23/04
We had a trip planned to the Grand Canyon, and I had reservations for two people at the Howard Johnson in Williams. I called 3 weeks in advance to make sure that a wheelchair-accessible room would be reserved - was told "no problem". When I arrived, the girl behind the counter (who spoke very broken English) said there wasn't such a room available. She directed me to the room which was reserved. She made up some lame excuse as to why a w/c room wasn't available, but I could hardly understand what she said. I do know that she never once apologized or tried to make accomodations!

We ended up staying at a much nicer facility in town where they actually spoke English! Don't stay at Howard Johnson unless you want to get the run-around. The place is run by foreign-nationals with poor customer service skills & poor English skills!
