We were very impressed with the Gateway Motel in Westhope. The rooms were very clean and everything was new and up-to-date. The people in Westhope were very friendly. We were surprised that such a nice facility could be found in such a small town. We'd certainly stay there again.
We stayed for 2 days. Very quiet. Room was clean. Nice TV. Wi-Fi. Hair dryer. Micro wave and fridge in a common room. Most of the time there is no on site staff. There is a number to call for assistance.
The Gateway has a self service check in feature. Use the lobby phone to get instructions on getting the key to your room.
If you have business in Westhope it would be ridiculous to stay in Minot
The room was excellent, no bugs, clean, ready for occupancy while we attended a local wedding summer 2008---- convienient to downtown which had onlky one family restaurant that served an excellent breakfast----
best steak is at Max Bass Bar and Grill-----they roll up the sidewalks on the weekends........
I have stayed at this motel many times while in town visiting my children and it has always been a great experience untill now. The room was dirty from the walls (what appears to be feces and nasal discharge) to the floor(wrappers under the bed), the room looked as if it hadn't been dusted for weeks! I woke up with little bumps on my legs, I think they are bite marks from bed bugs!! I will definately make other arrangements next time!!
My wife and myself stayed in Westhope in December , 2007. We had been told at the border that we would need to go to Minot for a good hotel. We noticed the modern looking hotel in Westhope and decided to stay there. Upon our return to Canada we told the people at both USA and CAN customs to recommend the hotel at Westhope, as we were VERY well satisfied with the modern rooms and the attitude of the local people we were in contact with. The hotel is run by the city , and is a bargain at around 45 dollars. Thank you , Westhope for a good experience in your town, while we were there picking up a swather.
