The Bunkhouse Motel, Guernsey

This Place is best. Friendly, helpful, people. They are willing to tell you best sights to see. Such as the old wagen trails to walk. Best lakes to visit. Where to get the best food. The owner is a very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The location is the best.

The management of the Bunkhouse went out of their way to be helpful and welcoming. The rooms were simple but pleasant, and are in the process of being upgraded. We would definitely stay there again.

We made a reservation for this place a month in advance. We get there at 2:30 in the afternoon and they said sorry, we overbooked our rooms. A family reunion came in and they gave them all the rooms instead of honoring their reservations. They did have our phone number but never bothered to call. The boy working there called the manager but she did not care about it and said to offer us a discount on the room in the basement. They offered us the basement for $10 less but the room was very very small, stunk and had no bathroom. They said we could use the bathroom upstairs. The bed was a sofa that made into a bed. The boy offered us a discount next time we come thru, but we will never patronize a place that does not honor their reservations, the Sagebrush Motel down the street is much better, does not look like much on the outside but offers a clean room and they are friendly people.

This place is great. Gene is always inviting and friendly, as is the rest of his staff. I once visited Guernsey but didnt stay at the Bunkhouse and they let me use their shower in their meeting hall for free, I did leave seven dollars with them though. The room is fairly comfortable. Location really doesnst matter in this case, seeing as you can see both ends of town standing on the corer of Main St. As long as I have been going there the place has never once changed, unfortuneately that doesnt say alot for the mattresses. I think they were brand new when I first visted! But thats the only gripe, well besides 52-62 a night price.
