Bay City Motor Inn, Bellingham

Well, at 2:22 am it got real noisey upstairs....sounded like bowling balls dropping every couple of minutes and someone singing...generally noisey for about 1/2 an hour or so then someone standing outside started yelling for someone...over and over again... then knocking on our door twice... come the morning, we got a phone call asking for the same person the guy outside was yelling for then, again, the same guy standing outside yelling for that person several times, until I yelled at him to quit yelling! What a joke! Then in the lobby at the hotel computer was the same guy, not a hotel occupant according to the lady at from desk, who roamed the halls several times and was using the computer, then left with a really sleazy looking woman who was pacing outside the back door appearing to be waiting for him... All the while the employees did NOTHING when I brought this to their attention which makes me believe they know something fishy is going on and are doing nothing about it. They seem to have top floor occuppied by long term residents.

I checked in here after checking in and right back out of another motel down the street. This place was a vast improvement for only $5 more a night. The girl working the desk said it was the nicest place in the area for the price and I think she was probably right. Bellingham seems to have more than its fair share of shabby, overpriced motels. I stayed three days. My room was comfortable and reasonably clean. Nothing special. Cable TV and windows that open were good. The continental breakfast was underwhelming. The employees were polite. I did have one negative incident: Coming in from the rainy outdoors, I slipped on the very slick entryway tiles and fell hard. I was wearing flip-flops which should have had plenty of traction. I skinned my elbow and banged my shin. It's a good thing I'm not easily breakable. I complained to the desk clerk, who apologized and moved a mat to cover the area -- but the next day it was gone. Those tiles don't seem appropriate for a high-traffic entryway. I hope nobody gets hurt on them.

I just got back from staying at Bay City and i really liked it. The main thing that caught me was the service at the front desk, we met about 5 different people at the desk and they were all so welcoming and helpful. We had a very nice room which had cable and the beds were comfy (very nice for 60 bucks). there was fresh coffee and juice in the lobby when we woke up and they have a snack machine and pop machines. its located right next to many fast food places (mcdonalds,arbys, subway, quiznos, wendys) and also some fantastic resturants. we ate at Supons Thai house and also Boomers. we stayed for 2 days and loved it and we will definetly stay again when we come back to bellingham. thanks!

I stayed at Bay City Motor Inn for several weeks and would definitely recommend this if you need a good place to stay in Bellingham. This motel is family run. Management is helpful and friendly above and beyond the call of duty. The rooms are very QUIET - you don't hear your neighbors. It's clean, comfortable and close to everything. Good food, gas and freeway on/off ramps are close by. The motel offers complimentary breakfast and coffee, (there's also a coffee kiosk next door, if you like a hearty morning brew), and the rooms have fridge & microwave if you want to stay in. I would certainly stay here again.

I have stayed at the Bay City Motor Inn in Bellingham three times now...and I will stay there again! I was treated exceptionally well. The rooms are clean and nice, with all the amenities I needed. The personnel was very helpful in every way. The location is perfect... close to everything. Thank you again for a very pleasant stay! Gabrielle

An online review brought me to this hotel. The room was clean in terms of carpet, the air, the furniture, and the bathroom. The room was well maintained. The staff and management were very nice. I would stay here again.

I needed a couple of days in Bellingham near the highway and WWU and paying my own way didn't want to pay for too fancy. This fit the bill perfectly. Friendly staff and clean, quiet building. Not as close to downtown as others, but for what I needed it was great. Will go back next time.

I ENJOYED MY STAY AT THE BAYCITY MOTOR INN. THE EMPLOYEES ARE GREAT HELP AND VERY FRIENDLY. THE BEDS ARE VERY COMFORTABLE. IT WAS VERY QUIET AND LOVE THE WEIGHT ROOM AND POOL TABLE. I HAV RECOMMENDED IT TO ALL OF MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY. AND I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO YOU!

The Bay City is centrally located between downtown Bellingham and the Fairhaven District so it was great for us as tourists. In addition, it is close to Western Washington University with its fabulous sculpture collection. The hotel was spotless, there is Wi-Fi in the room, and breakfast is included in the rate. Breakfast included cereal, fruit, coffee, etc.-- no prepackaged pastries! There are the usual fast food places nearby but it was only a 10 minute drive to great restaurants in Fairhaven or Bellingham.
