Rodeway Inn by the Beach Virginia Beach, Virginia Beach

This was the worst hotel that I ever stayed in!!!!! When I went to check in they proceded to charge me extra after I already booked my room and paid for it on expedia. They said they had to the right to charge for extra people. I only had 2 adults and 2 teenagers. When I booked it on Expedia I put the teenager's ages and paid for it. So they charged me and extra $14. When we got into the room it looked terrible. It was dark and dreary. We had a double bed room with a sofa bed. The sofa bed was just a cheap futon and had no cover on it. There was no extra blankets to put on it either. The kitchen was dirty and dingy. I am so glad I did not cook in it!!! We went to the beach and came back expecting to take nice showers but the showers at the beach had better water pressure. The tub got plugged up and there was a huge clump of hair in the drain. My son tried to get an internet connection but was unable to get one even with the code. Probably because they had the internet turned off or low. I had to go down to the office to complain before he came up on our floor and did something and the internet was working. But it was running extremely slow. We had hardly any towels at the end of the evening. Which was at 10pm. We called the office and the phone just rang and no one picked up. Finally I went down there and demanded that they give us more towels and toliet paper. He didn't want to give us any until we brought the other towels down to them. Very unhelpful staff. I couldn't wait to get out of the hotel. I hardly slept there because of the noise at night and early in the morning. The entire family lived there and I believe they were on our floor. The continental breakfast was a joke. Milk, juice and some donuts and muffins. Nothing else and they watched you as you took your items. My recomendation pay a little more and get a well known hotel for their service because this hotel had nothing going for them!!!!

the only good thing is the price and location to the beach. remember you get what you pay for. dont get me wrong, ive stood at worst places but this one is about a 1 on a scale of 1 to 5. the guy at the front desk was nice and informative but told me i couldnt get my 2nd day refunded to me that i had to stay. the rooms are very dingy and outdated. the rooms seem to be very moldy especially in the bathroom and around the air vents. there is no tv in the bedroom only in the living room. another good thing there is a 7-11 right across the street. there is also a strict policy of having any visitors come over, if you are caught they will throw you out without a refund, so 2 adults mean only 2 adults or pay $15 extra a day for each extra adult. so stay at your own risk.

All the people who wrote negative reviews before me said it all! The only good part about the hotel itself is the location.

Went to check into this place we had reserved only to turn around and leave. Be careful...if you ask to see the room they will show you the clean one. When you get to YOUR room..BEWARE...The desk clerk wasn't very nice at all either.

This hotel was awful. The pictures on the internet make it look like it is very nice. They do not care about their guest at all. The noise was awful and when you complain about the noise they want you to tell them where it is coming from. There were people running up and down the halls slamming doors, and screaming this went on until well after 2 pm.The pool was green, there is no water pressue is the showers. I was traveling with 2 small children that could not sleep because of the noise. We checked out early and had to find other accomadations and the hotel has refused to refund us our money for the nights that we did not stay with them. The floors were very dirty my kids feet were black. The couch was full of sand. The front desk staff was not helpful at all. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

i dislike about this hotel because there were no microwave, my family went downstairs to use motel's only one microwave located at the front desk. i wouldn't recommend this hotel to family, or parent with small child.

Either I got my hotel pictures mixed up or this place has false advertising... I booked the hotel to stay a few nights during the summer on a business trip. I checked in, looked around, made a few phone calls to find another hotel, and checked out within 30 minutes. The refrig. door wouldn't close, there was NO internet (so working was out of the question!), a sign at the front desk said I couldn't have any clean towels unless I brought them my dirty ones first... What??? The sidewalks outside the rooms were dirty - the pool looked dirty. There were dirty towels or something outside of my door... The parking "garage" wasn't big enough to have cars going both in and out at the same time... and it was dark and dirty. I realize that during the summer at the beach you never know what you'll get but for the $ I was being charged per night, I expected a bit more than old, broken, and dirty accomodations. The front desk staff, inspite of my displeasure with their establishment, were pleasant both upon arrival and the checkout and promptly assisted me with my refund for the entire reservation. I was staying on a discounted rate, I can't imagine what I would have thought had I been paying full price!!!

The Said kitchen had a broken refrig. and no Dishes or silverware. it was about a block from the beach and was walking distance. in need of repair and fixing up. the tV was ok about 15 years old

We stayed here knowing full well it was going to be a cheaper style place. All we were looking for was a place to lay our heads at night. The elevator was a tad old, but it worked. The rooms seemed clean and the pool was nice. Staff was nice as well. Overall, it was pretty good.

The hotel was in need of a renovation but for the price I could nto complain. The front desk person was very nice and informative. The veiw was excellant and the location was great. I would stay again if I had to.
