Hotel Kette, Venice

Hotel Kette is centrally located ad offers standard room conditions. Please be aware that you do not take a room close to the lift which is very noisy and can get very disturbing at night. The breakfast is quite standard and can get very crowded if you wake up late.

Great location right near San Marco square. Breakfast every morning was good. The hotel is lovely. Only complaint was the very, very hard beds.

Wonderful place to stay. Don't know that I would have found this myself, was arranged through a travel agent, was an excellent experience. Close enough to San Marco that we could get there easily and not get lost in the City - always had a landmark. Acess for us was by water taxi from airport - delivered right to the hotel - no dragging luggage through street. Our room had a window that opened up to a canal, and we liked to be able to hear the boat travel, and gondola serenades that went right by the hotel. Breakfast Buffet was excellent, good food, cereal, pastries, ham, cheese, fruit, yogurt, coffee, cappucino, water juices. Room is a bit tight though, so I recommend you go earlier (plenty of room at 8:00 am, the one morning we went at 9:00 it was crowded). Bathrooms had towel heater, very convenient to dry clothing that we washed out in our room. I would recommend this Hotel to anyone and would stay there again.

You can find anything you need: near of San Marcos, near La Fenice, a short brekfast buffet, but with good food, and always is plenty of tourist.

Imagine my astonishment when I asked for a map and was screamed at by the hotel manager! Upon arrival by water taxi to this luxurious 4 star hotel, I made a request of one of the employees (found out later he was the manager of the day) for a map. When my sister & family tried to accept the proferred map- the manager interceded and asked if she was a guest of the hotel? No, she said. I then indicated that I was a guest. They gave me the map, but not before the manager shouted in a loud, belligerent voice that I had been deceitful in asking for the map and then giving it to someone else. I was astonished. Never have I experienced such poor conduct by a hotel employee. It cast a pall on our stay in Venice. We were finishing up a 10 day tour of Italy that had included Rome and Florence. Needless to say, I will not go back to this hotel and will suggest to friends, family, & business associates that they not go either.

From the elegant decor to the spatious, clean rooms, Hotel Kette is amazing. Entering the hotel was an exciting experience in itself. The boat taxi dropped us off at what seemed to be a long, empty hallway. Immediately, a hotel employee appeared and helped us with our luggage. I was stunned when the marble hallway led straight into the hotel lobby. Located just around the corner from one of the most famous basilicas in the world, the hotel is also in an amazing location. If you go to Venice, this is the place to stay.
