Ashling Hotel, Dublin

We stayed for two night as part of our overall rail tour package. Originally coming to Dublin with low expectations, we were positively surprised and impressed by this hotel. The front desk staff were extremely professional and courteous, greeting us with a smile and taking care of us from the start. Our two rooms were clean and a nice size, with decent bedding and nice touches such as the hot pot with tea. The breakfast buffet seemed pricey buy very nicely done and, unfortunately, we did not have an opportunity to try the bar (as there were so many other bars within walking distance). Did I mention the convenience??? This property was a stone's throw from the Connolly Station, a ride on ride off bus stop and the tram. This location proved to be a god send since we needed to catch an early morning train to start our rail tour. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would stay here on our next visit.

Stayed at this Hotel for 4 nights in March 2007,the double room was very clean,bright and comfortable,except for the hard pillows!.View out the window awful,but this didnt bother us at all as we were out and about.Nice and quite at night. The Staff were all very friendly and helpful. We had booked room only,so ate our breakfasts elsewhere, but enjoyed 2 super evening meals in the Bistro resturant,very relaxing away from the hustle and bustle of the City places. Location good,Trams run frequently.Shame Tram didnt stop directly outside Hotel late at night. We look forward to returning one day. Liz & Alan Derby.England

I stayed in the Hotel in April 2007, it had a great location, 10 minute walk to the Phoenix Park and Zoo, minutes walk to Tram station and Train station, and tour bus stop very close too. The hotel was very clean for our arrival, but the staff were not very welcoming at all. They were not helpful, and most of the time you felt like saying "SMILE!". on the second day of our stay we never received fresh towels and room sercive and had to phone reception to complain. The room was nice, but the view was not, but since we were mostly out and about this did not bother us too much. I would not stay in this hotel again.

We stayed here just one night so we could catch an early train for our excursion. The room IS conveniently located for the trains and LUAS, although not as close to a variety of restaurants as other choices. (Nancy Hands is good and close by.) Room was clean and bathroom was clean as well. No complaints.
