Royal Hotel, Portree

The hotel sits on the main street with most rooms overlooking the harbor. The evening view, from our hotel room, across the harbor with the mist rolling in was quite spectacular. Since the town is small, the location is quite convenient for walking anywhere in the town which also has many stores and shops. The restaurant was very nice with delightful food and the service was average. The room was large by European standards with two twin beds and all the amenities. The cleanliness was superb. The one drawback that we discovered at the Hotel Royal is the lack of a lift which makes toting a large suitcase a chore. The staff was very friendly and quite helpful.
