Park International Hotel, London

The hotel has recently been remodeled, and we found it to be clean, comfortable, with a staff that greeted us by name every time we walked in and was eager to assist us. Our room was the largest of all those we encountered during our four-country tour. The bathroom was very large and sparkling clean. Our only complaints were that the shower water was too hot, and our room was street level so there was street noise, but I carry ear plugs for just such occurrence. The breakfast was good and plentiful. A grocery store was nearby and the tube was just minutes away. Do not hesitate to stay at this hotel!

I stayed here in 2001 and found the location to be absolutely perfect. Right down the street from the Gloucester Tube station and walking distance to Kensington Palace and the Victoria & Albert Museum. The hotel itself is older. Upon arriving I was given a VERY small single room and when I complained to the desk, I was upgraded to a double. This being my first trip to Europe, I hadn't expected such a small room. Most of the "features" such as TV, safe, etc did not work very well but if you are just looking for a place to sleep, it fits the bill. Do not expect luxury by any means.

This convenient hotel has a great location and easy access to the subway. Very clean. Some of the front desk staff was less than helpful and very arrogant. The rooms were tiny but probably average size for London. Probably would not stay there again. Had to change rooms twice while we were there due to problems with overbooking.

Park international is without a doubt the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I reside in the US but was born in London. The hotel is dirty and way overpriced lousy service no food rude staff' the rooms are awful. This place should close and reboot' including the rude front desk people. Keith Kent

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for Christmas 2004. It wasn't bad. The location was great. It's 2 blocks from Gloucester Road station, which has the Picadilly, District, and Circle Lines. It's very easy to reach from Heathrow airport via the Picadilly line. The rooms are very small, but we weren't in the room much anyways. If you book on their website, free breakfast is included. However, there are plenty of places to get meals in the area. The staff was friendly and helpful. On Christmas Day, we walked to Picadilly Circus, due to the Tube being closed for the holiday. It was a nice walk, and only took about 30 minutes. Harrods isn't too far from this hotel either.

Stayed for 9 nights in June. Booked a "King suite" on-line for the entire time. GBP 149, after conversion $325 per night. Probably the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in. Hot, uncomfortable and not well maintained. One electrical outlet in the entire room, it was inside the closet. After checking in and going to the room for the first time, I was amazed at the size of the room. I called down to the desk and said that there must be some mistake because I booked a suite. The clerk laughed and said I had the suite. Never again......................

I travel alot and have stayed in many hotels in the U.K. I have never in my travels been treated so rudely by the staff and management of a hotel. Don't even think of registering a complaint with them. They are obnoxious beyond belief. Also, the rates listed and booked on the internet are not the charges that they expect you to pay at check-out($280 v. $80 reserved rate) The only good thing about this hotel is the location, that's why I booked here. But, I will never stay there again because it's not worth the time and effort it took me to make this hotel honor its reservations and refund to my credit card their over-charge

I booked my stay at the Park International after doing research online. I would be traveling with my wife and 2 teenage children. This was our first trip to London. We needed something comfortable for all 4 of us. I was looking for a hotel in the city, located within walking distance of the tube. I wanted to get the best value that I could. I knew we would be spending very little time in the room anyway so it did not have to be luxurious. My research lead me to conclude that we would probably have to squeeze into a very small room, with a very small bathroom. After comparing rates and descriptions of many hotels, I decided on the Park International. I called the hotel's 800 number and booked my reservation directly. I was a bit concerned about what I would find when I arrived with my family. I was very pleasantly surprised. Our room was configured into 2 separate sleeping areas, one with a queen sized bed for adults, and one for kids with a bunk bed and a single bed. We had a full sized bathroom as well. There was also a small refrigerator in the room, which came in handy for storing snacks that we picked up at the local grocery store - Waitrose, right next to the tube. The hotel is in a beautiful residential section of London. The tube is a short, pleasant walk - Gloucester Station. There are plenty of nice little boutiques and restaurants in the neighborhood. Continental breakfast was included in our room rate. It was acceptable, but I would not eat there if it wasn't included. I found the staff very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for clean, basic, accomodations at a reasonable rate. In fact our experience was so satisfactory that we stayed there again later in the same trip after traveling on to other destinations.

The unlocking, peeling paint windows had huge gaps letting lots cold air in along with some birds. We did not feel safe. The 2nd night we were in a basement room where the bed was right on the radiator to which I burned my arm. Nice that they leave cleaning supplies in the bathrm. for over $3XX a night. Very run down, no one to bring our luggage to the rm. after a long flight - poor directions/advice given for London attractions - Large added fee to check in a couple of hours early to boot.

I found this little gem while planning a spur of the moment trip to London last Spring. For what you pay (considering it IS afterall London)it is a remarkable nice little hotel. As someone else had mentioned, the bathroom, in my room at least, was claustrophobic! Actually, to be more specific, the shower was claustrophobic. I am not a large framed person (5'5", 140 lbs) and I could not turn around in the shower, I can only imagine how anyone taller or wider would do! All things considered though, I was not in London to spend time in my room, but to be out and about, so for my needs, it was just right, and I would definitely stay there again!
