Don't bother with this hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/13/10
The hotel will be renivated May 2010 according to what they told us. Hotel is very very run down. Construction inside and out. If you are headed to Munich for holiday, this isn't the place to stay. It might be fine when construction isn't taking place, but we left right after arriving. We didn't feel safe, comfortable or excited about our visit to Germany

We would definitely stay here again.
By Timothy, 2/16/10
My wife and I loved staying here because it is perfectly located in the city being just a short train ride away from the downtown of Munich, which means that it's nice and quiet at night. The breakfast each morning is awesome. We never went out for breakfast because they have everything you could possibly want. The staff was super nice and curteous, always ready to help or assist in any way possible. The rooms are cleaned very well, and the bed was the most comfortable I had ever experienced at a hotel. The clear glass wall that let's you see in to the bathroom took a bit of getting used to, but after a couple of days, my wife and I just laughed at it and thought...oh well...after all, we are in Europe. The spa was nice. It's co-ed and nudity is allowed so don't be surprised if you see some. Again...after a day or two you just get used to it. If you go during Summer months expect lots and lots of young children from Dubai to be running, rollerblading, and playing soccer on every sqaure inch of ground both in and around the hotel. I'm sure we will travel back to Munich some day, and when we do, I plan on staying at the Sheraton again.

Will definitely stay there next time!
By smh, 6/10/05
The Arabella Sheraton was wonderful!. From the minute we arrived (quite travel-weary from a long week of touring Italy) we were very impressed by the friendly, helpful staff. We were only in Munich for two night and wanted to make the most of our time there, despite the fact that we "lost" a day to heavy rain. We had a wonderful lunch in the hotel restaurant, where our waiter was nice enough to give us pointers about the city. The hotel has an entire floor of the hotel dedicated to the pool. whirlpools, sauna, and bar (you can also get a message.) we realize my boyfriend did not have his bathing suit with him, and all the shops close early on saturdays. We mentioned this to the concierge, who CALLED A LOCAL STORE OWNER who then walked to his shop and opened the doors just so we could purchase a bathing suit. Definitely above and beyond the call of duty. Hotel is just a few minutes from the u-bahn, but we took cabs most places w/out spending too much. We are both internet junkies, so we were in heaven at this hotel. All we did was borrow an ethernet cable from the concierge, plug my laptop in the jack on the room phone, and voila: unlimited high speed internet INCLUDED in the price of the room. This was a nice change, since all week in Italy we had had to purchase cards with minutes and login to this or that, or use crappy hotel computers. Bottom line: great room, comfortable bed, wonderful staff, good food (including speedy room service) and great location. Great hotel!

Very conveniently located
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/22/05
Nice hotel with courteous and helpful English speaking staff located a five minute walk from U-bahn station. There's also restaurants/shops/grocery nearby. Concierge desk was very convenient and helpful, selling stamps, U-bahn tickets, train route information, maps, et cetera. Beautiful lobby and pool, nice rooms with plenty of space. We stayed in the newly renovated upper floor section, and had a beautiful little balcony offering a decent view of the city. The best part of this hotel is the location - very convenient, with the nearby U-bahn on a direct line into the city center in a 10-15 minute trip. We would definitely consider staying there again.

Going Back Next Year
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/11/07
I just returned from the Arabella, and it was wonderful. We stayed on the Club Lounge floor and it was beautiful. The room was nice with a great view and there is private lounge for the guest staying on that floor, with drinks, snacks, and food included with the price. The rooms come ready with internet, and you can rent movies in english from the tv. The pool area is nice, with a suna, steam bath, wirlpool and a bar. The service was great and the location is good with the U-BAHN right around the corner. There is a couple of resturants right behind the hotel, also a cinema, and a grocery store. I read all over the internet that the English Gardens is within walking distance of the hotel, this is in-correct. The English Gardens is not in walking distance, unless you consider 40 min's walking distance, also nobody around even knew where the English Garden was. There are some things that you can drive to without getting lost but beware its very confusing to drive around. See the front desk and get a city map its very helpful. In conclusion we had a great time and will return next year.
