A Crown Jewel in Paris

I have stayed at many hotels in Paris over the years. I counsel anyone planning a trip to Paris, subtract a star from whatever the hotel is rated to get a true idea of what you will expect. Often rooms are over priced and very small in most 3.5 to 4 star hotels. What the French brand a 3-4 star is more likely a 2-3 star.
This is not true of the Royal Monceau. It truly lives up to its reputation. It is a true 5 star hotel.
The service was exceptional. I stayed in a Jr. Suite and the accommodations were above and beyond what I could have expected.
The room was priced right, at about 700E a night, bit expensive, but then again, it is 5 stars. Room had more pillows and towels than I needed. Crystal chandeliers, 2 bathrooms, living room, plenty of desk space, and a large King sized bed.
If you want to splurge I recommend the Presidential or Royal suites.
I generally do not write such positive reviews about anywhere I stay. Typically something always goes wrong.
I could only find one fault in this whole experience. Dinner was amazing, I spent 45 euros ($60) on a very nice meal. The complaint, the next morning I spent 45 euros ($60) on a croissant, bowl of rice krispies and a glass of orange juice. Other than that, the hotel and the service were perfect!
If you plan on going to Paris, the Royal Monceau is truly a crown jewel in French upper class accommodations.
