Le Cagnard, Cagnes-sur-Mer

The location of this stunning hotel with its French Riviera setting, its breathtaking views, beautiful no-two-alike rooms and suites, classic dining room as well as dining al fresco overlooking the sea makes this one of the best hotels I have ever visited. Strolling the hotel grounds as well as the surrounding neighborhood that dates back to the 1300's (this is the original Grimaldi castle) is an amazing experience. The very narrow 700 year old roads were made for pedestrians and 4 legged transportation, so even with a very small car, the outside mirrors needed to be slanted in against the car doors when making a few nearby turns on the original cobblestone roads. The staff was kind, thoughtful, and appropriate, making this a trip that ranks as one of the best.
