Excellent choice
My sister and I visited Vienna this fall.
Hotel is very clean, rooms are spacious. If you go there you will want to enjoy the fantastic city not get a lot of gadgets in the room. Staff is wonderful; very polite, pleasant, obliging, helpful with all your needs. We had a minor problem with the maid and was fixed promtly at the front office.
We needed very late dinning and they gave us the name of good restaurant, frequented by locals. We needed to get back very late after a concert and we were advised very well.
It was the first time, in numerous travels, that I was invited to my room 3 hours prior to check in. Knowing I was after a long flight everybody was extremely nice with me.
The room was very spacious by European standars; you can't dream something like this in Paris at the same price.
The price was decent and dropped more 1 week after our travel.
The chef was fantastic, such a gentleman ( I would guess he is Indian heritage).
Smoking is a problem throughout Europe, the most elegant Hotels ( including Sacker) smell like smoke.
We didn't get breakfast included, but the food was very good, healthy and variate. You have so many dinning choices in that city, we wanted to try as many as we could.
We are well to do people, but considerate with our money; we found this place very appropriate for our needs.
Is located in a safe area, there is a good distance to City Center and is getting old to walk 30 min just to get to the "hot spots". We found taxi safe, cheap and available throughout the city.
We liked our choice, we thought we had a good deal. The street was rather calm so at night we could rest well.
I have significant allergies and they exacerbated in Vienna due to mold in old buildings.
I will definitely return there, I will recommend this hotel to other friends. Is only fair to say the staff is outstanding and makes up for the lack of swimming pool, massage parlor, gym classes and so on.
If you want those you will pay far more and not have time to visit the city.
Is so much you can do and so many places you can see.
Tip: Sacker torte at Sacker hotel was old. We had a better one at the Greek Restaurant close to Belvedere. There is a good restaurant with freshly prepared food, good prices on Akademie Strasse ( Steak House). If you visit Schonbrunn get cake and coffee at the Main entrance Cafe; you will not regret it.
Above all, if you go enjoy your experience, is worth it.
We did and will again.
