Stayed there twice, love it
I've been to the Reef House Resort twice now, and each time I've left with a sense of happiness and an urge to go back. The staff is friendly, Larry is quite an excellent host, and it's cool to interact with local scientists studying reef health or the turtles.
The reef itself is beautiful, and the water is warm and crystal clear. Whether you are snorkeling out of the resort, or diving at one of many amazing locations Choco and David (pronounced Daveed) bring you to, you will be amazed. The dives are the perfect length for those just wanting to see amazing wildlife and beautiful reefs, and good enough for the scientists in your groups to spot Ricordia and other rare sights. Compared to reefs in Florida or the Bahamas, these are in much better shape with more to see.
As for the resort itself, the food is excellent, they provide for your special needs even in large groups, whether allergic to seafood or vegetarian they can have an excellent meal prepared. The steaks are cooked to perfection, the chicken is tender, the fish, lobster and crab are fresh and well prepared.
The rooms are quaint and comfortable, especially after an exhausting day in the sun and three dives. But the best part of the resort isn't lounging about in your room - it's talking to friends out on their deck or in the lounge of the resort. If you insist on being inside, they have a selection of about fifty American TV channels and WiFi for free.
Please try it, great staff, great service, great location, the food is excellent and you will want to go back (like my group of nineteen and I have).
