Radisson Fort George Hotel and Marina, Belize City

Everything was horrible, I can not believe that this hotel is consider as a great hotel is ridiculos. 1- Not phone service, You are in the midlle of nowhere phone thas not work. "SCARY" 2-Front desk. At that hotel does not exist. So it means no services. 3- No air conditionar HORRIBLE 4-For internet you have to pay extra $11.00 Dollars for one day. 5-And many more things that you are not going to believe. Good luck.

The location was cool, my suggestion would be to take Bug repelant because those bugs was having a feast on my legs, the staff were very helpful and the food was above average, went on vacation and it was about what I expected. Poor community, but the the experience was worth it. They have taxi cabs located at the on the premises that will give you a city tour if you like, or ask them to take you to the mayan ruins which is about 40 minutes away, deep in the jungle. Downtown is walking distance away,they have lots of stuff to choose from, but be aware of the tourist prices that they try to charge. The USD is 2 to 1, for ex. If you buy a $10.00 phone card, they would charge $5.00 if you pay with us currency. I paid about $80 usd per nite for the room and it was for the most part prety clean, my only complaint would be the bugs that feasted on me.

The hotel itself is so so to poor. It was advertised to have 2 swimmning pools. The reality is there is only one pool that is working and the water is murky due to lack of pool maintenance. The buthtub needs to be scrubbed so I used a towel to step on while taking a shower. Most of the staff are friendly, their service is extremely slow. The aircondition went out for 1 day and management did not do anything about it. You can just imagine how hot and humid it is inside the room. I cannot really recommend this hotel to anyone. However this is the only hotel chain in Belize. Most tourist stay at a lodge or hostel.

I liked the security afforded in a questionable city. The rooms are overpriced and there was a heavy oder of mold present. The ceiling fan actually had visible mold on the blades. Food and drinks were reasonable. You can find cheaper and nicer rooms in San Pedro with beach access.

Staff is always helpful and kind. Check front desk for infos on all tours. Radisson owns the Marina (The Diving Connection) which is just outside. Decoration is superb, specially comparing to others in Belize City. The main Restaurant is very good. I did not go to the bar. The hotel is on a walk distance of other 2 good restaurants: Harbour View and The Smoky Mermaid. As it is a bigger hotel, staff is not constantly under supervision, so the room is not may be not well cleaned sometimes. Plus, they never clean the room when you want. Only when THEY want. If you are only coming back in the evening, that's OK. I went on a business trip and was working at the hotel, so that was a hassle. The location is nice but, specially if you're a woman, do not try to walk alone on the surrounding areas. Belize City IS a dangerous place. Internet avaiable on each room. Nice and clean swimming pool.

This hotel is below average; the rest of the city is even worse. If you're expecting a tropical vacation, this is not your scene. Belize City is fueled solely by cruise ship stops. During the day, local entrepreneurs (i.e., hustlers) assault you with tours, drugs, and souvenirs. At night, it's not safe to leave the block. Save money and grief: Stay in Ambergris Caye or somewhere else far away from Belize City and the Radisson Ft. George.

The hotel is an oasis in the very poor, crime-ridden area of Belize City. It is an older hotel property that has undergone extensive renovation and we found the rooms to be very clean and well maintained. The staff was very nice and accomodating as well. The surprising thing I noticed, is that TV had more channels available than my cable system at home in California. We didn't have any problems with bugs or other critters in our room (as other reviews have stated) and the only minor complaint I have, is that they need to get some new mattresses. Ours had plenty of mileage on it and needed replaced. Otherwise, knowing how picky the major hotel chains are about the quality of their properties, Radisson should be proud of this establishment.

We loved the Radisson. The room, service, people, and country of Belize was absolutely wonderful. I plan to go back next year and stay longer.

I found the hotel to be very clean and the host and hostess were very friendly and informative. The Hotel was Beautiful and near tourist village. I only wish the country would beef up security. I was afraid to go out at night. However if you get to know the taxi drivers they can be very friendly and helpful. I would suggest keeping the same driver. I can suggest one, Darrel Rivers he was very honest and patient.

We had wonderful service. The staff made our stay. Very helpful and friendly! The food was Great and several places for shopping. It was a little more expensive than the others in the area but we felt it was worth the extra money.Take advantage of the tour desk she was most helpful and was cheaper than other tour offers.
