We spend a week on St. Croix in a nice, but concrete hotel, so it was a wonderfull experience to stay in 1829. When you get use to all the stairs, the hotel just grow on you. The staff do their job, but if you get time to talk with them a new world open. The hotel is part of the Haagensen House tourist tour. I special feeling sitting with a cold beer and a group of tourist turns up. We got a fantastic invitation to the owns own balcony and what a view of the city, the harbour and the crusierships. The pool is small but so nice.
The bar wasn´t open when we visited the hotel. You get a good breakfast - if you ask for it.
Best place was on the patio in front of the hotel, with a good view of the city.
