Not what I expected from a Hilton

We had a room on the sixth floor with a balcony. The view was nice.The hallway carpet is aweful and the hallway smelled bad. Everyone is accomodating but not friendly in this location. The lobby and pool areas are okay. The service is slow but I found that true in most of the restaurants we visited.The elevators did not always work. The room is a clean dump. The bathroom needs an overhaul. I understand they have updated the suites. They need to start working on the rooms one floor at a time. I feel the rooms are overpriced for the quality. This is not the Hilton experience I expected.

Overpriced Dump

$240 plus they charge for Internet. May chair broke and I hurt myself They overcharged me. The internet rate was $170

My new home for vacation

I don't know where previous guest stayed at the Hilton, but i stayed in the main tower, with pool view. The room was clean and up to date for me. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and polite. And very beautiful, if i may say. If u payed the low rate for the rooms alongside the pool, then don't complain about the out dated furniture, the noisy neighbors and poor room service. The best part of this hotel is in the main tower. This is where i'll be staying whenever i come back to Jamaica.

Not Paradise, but...

I stayed here about 3 years ago on business. I was on the 4th floor, which was a mistake. I was too close to the street level and the noise level from the honking horns was quite disturbing. The room was clean, but there was a smell of paint, which drove me crazy. The sushi bar was okay and the steak house gets a "10". The casino sucked, but I've been to worse. I did win a total of $10 on one slot, and was treated like a "high roller". I had several drinks at the casino, but it never hit me, so I think the booze is thinned out. I would stay here again, but I will move up to a higher floor. The staff was nice, and on a scale of 1 to 10, I give it a 8.

FUN...TASTIC!!! Going back in December. Jacqueline Dennis

I stayed at the Hilton on March 20th - March 27th 2008. My trip was "great" in every way. The staff gave A+ service. I was treated like a QUEEN for seven glorious days. Of course, I'm treated like a queen daily at home in Canada. They knew a queen when they see one!!!! Several mornings I ordered breakfast; it was fast and food was delicious. My room was cleaned in a timely fashion and requests were dealt with in a professional manner. Thanks to Allie (front desk), Everton (bell service), Tameka & Laura (room service), Majorie, Javon, Stacy-Ann Leroy & Monica (housekeeping), Craig, Trudy-Ann, Karen & Stacy-Ann(Pool Bar)and Michael, Slowley, Richard, Owen, Brandon, Milachi and all the other groundskeeper/ pool attendants who helped to make my trip a fun...tastic one. GREAT JOB HILTON!!!!

Not as bad as I thought

The Hilton is located next to two other hotels so the area isn't too bad. The rooms need updating and the plumbing can be a problem. The hot water took five minutes to get hot. The pool area and buffets are really nice. I had no problem with slow check-in, in fact it was fast. There are a few fast food restaurants and clubs within two blocks of the hotel but be careful walking at night.

Yikes - this is the best?

Apparently this is the best you can get ... the internet is barely adequate and you pay $23/day. The food so-so and expensive. You wait 45 minutes to be seated for a breakfast buffet (why not put it by the pool?? there is more seating?). The rooms? Terrible. Mildewed, musty and full of bugs (i know this is the tropics). The beds ... horrible. Not to a Hilton standard. The staff - rude, bored, tired and they just don't care. 20 minute wait for ANYTHING (except of course the bill). The fitness centre is superb.

Front Desk Staff Terrible

When you are a business travel, you expect a friendly and fast check in and check out. You will not get this at the Hilton Jamaica. The rooms are old and dirty. The elevators in need of repairs. The entire front staff in need of training and mentoring. Do not stay at this Hotel.

I'll never go back!

The room was grungy, and sub-standard, windows so filthy I couldn't see out of it. I expected more from a Hilton hotel. Totally overpriced and definitely not worth the money!!!
