Rat Trap
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/9/11
They should not charge for the rooms, they are so bad. We stayed there for no more than 3 hours, packed and moved away. It was scary. The rooms did not have light fixtures, they were exposed bulbs dangling from wires. The pool was green. The owners' restaurant was their house. Doors did not lock, bathrooms were grungy, Uneven sidewalks with ragged grass. We tried, but just could not lower our standards. Lost a night room $, but well worth the change. Went to the Sheraton, and walked in. Not the cheapest, but at least you felt safe. "Beach" was down the hill and across the road. No sand. Just hard coral and bushes.

Thanks for a quiet nice place to stay
By barb, 1/15/08
Staying at the Orange Hill was wonderful. We just needed a place to stay that was quiet, fun and low key. The rooms are very clean, there is an open bar all the time and great food that is affaordable. It is run by very nice people and their dogs! We have a home in the bahamas and will stay there for every lay-over for now on. Only thing I would change would be having some shampoo and quest plastic bags for dirty clothes. Thanks, we'll see you in a week. Sincerely, K and B

vacation 7/12/07-7/15/07
By Twylaf, 7/23/07
the hotel room was very clean, the food was not that great, the staff and the hotel was great, the hotel is far out from everything including cable beach. we had to take the bus or cab everywhere, the cab sometimes complained about driving so far out. the hotel was overall very good for the price we paid. i did not like the fact we arrived at the hotel at 1030 am and check in time was 12, we had to wait until our room was available then we could not get the second room until 2pm.

Back again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/5/07
This was our second time we visited the Orange Hill Beach Inn. We enjoyed it so much, that this time we brought our daughter and her husband with us. They both had a wonderful time. The owner made it a point to meet our every need, even to offering us a steak dinner which was not normally carried on the menu and picking up a special bottle of wine for us. It sure was great as is all the food which is offered. The prices are very reasonable for the Bahamas. We have stayed at several hotels in Nassau over the years but have become return customers to Orange Hill, mainly because of the basic charm and warm hospitality. If you are tired of all the fast paced noisy hotels, and will be satisfied with basic clean accommodations, you will enjoy Orange Hill. It is only a short and enjoyable bus ride to the busy sections of Nassau if you wish to venture out. We can't wait to go back again and most certainly will.

Great out of the way place
By Jessica, 5/31/07
Orange Hill is just across the road from the ocean. All I had to do was walk down the driveway and the beach was right there. Nice place if you don't want the crowds. If you want to go into town just hop on the bus that stops right outside the Inn. For a dollar it will take you where you need to go. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I went for a week by myself and had a fabulous time.

Excellent value
By Leslie, 4/2/07
We chose Orange Hill Beach Inn because we had an early flight back to the States, and it is only 10 minutes from the airport. Staff was very friendly and went the extra mile to help us w/a late arrival and early check-out. Rooms were clean and what you would expect from an older hotel. We weren't there very long, so didn't use the pool or lounge/restaurant facilities. Kids were impressed w/the banana trees growing right beside the check-in! Excellent value for Nassau area. Would stay here again if in the area.

Sweet Bahamas
By Kimberly T, 3/23/07
I truly enjoyed staying at Orange Hill. It was very peaceful and quiet. It was a perfect get a way during all the college spring breakers that were in town. My friends and i stayed in a cottage or kitchenette. If you did'nt want to eat out, why cook food for yourself. The scenery is breathe taking, the hotel sits on top of a hill over looking the beautiful blue water. The hotel employees and management were very nice and helpful. For all of the dear Anna Nichol fans, the cemetary that she is buried in is not far from the hotel. You can't enter in the cemetary, but in the front of the cemetary off of the road you can see her grave. The only thing that i dislike about the hotel was in the cottage, you had to step down into the room, the steps or not even.

Hope to go back soon!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/19/07
the location of Orange Hill can't be beat. For a quite relaxing stay, you have to go here. there is great snorkeling right in front of the hotel, and the beach was always free of crowds. There were times when we were the only ones on the beach, and the only one's snorkeling. the first night, they mistakingly put us in a nicer room than we had reserved. It had a kitchenette and an ocean view. It was nice, hard wood floors etc. the bathroom was a little lacking. it was clean but the dry wall was cracking. the rest of our stay was in a standard room, along the pool. this room was ok. it was small and only had one small window, it was a little claustrophobic in there, and the bed wasn't near as comfy as the first room, but we spent most of our time on the beach anyways.the food at the little reastaraunt was good and cheap, but not much of a variety. Breakfast and drinks at the bar are on the honor system, (just write down what you had on a clip board. the area around the hotel was well maintained with lots of vegetation and trees. the only thing i would do over is probably not go downtown. it was crowded and loud, and took kind of a while to get there on the bus(only a dollar). it was mostly to get trinkets and such. if you have a long stay, it would be worth it to see, but if you only have a few days, i wouldn't go downtown again. there is a restaurant about a 25 min walk to the left as your facing the ocean. the food was pretty good, a little pricey. the staff is very nice and accommodating, they will drive you to town for free to get food to stock your fridge with snacks, and they also offered to drive us to one of the near by restaraunts. overall i would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a relaxing vacation away from all the hub bub. this isn't a resort, but for the price it can't be beat! some tips: ask how much for the taxi before you get in. there are not any sidewalks anywhere near the hotel, best to walk on the beach most the way if you can. take advantage of the free snorkeling gear provided by the hotel

I will definitely be back.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/12/07
The friendliness and open atmosphere was absolutely wonderful, we actually made new friends to hang out with. The food was as good as anyplace else on the island, but cheaper. The accomodations, especially the cottages are just great. The location was superior to being in the downtown area, very relaxing and easy to get around riding the bus.
