Tired property
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/6/08
Gorgeous location on the beach, beautiful view of Acapulco Bay, lush and attractive grounds. VERY tired rooms - stained bedskirt, rusted drain in tub, paint splashes on sink and countertop, old furniture, filthy plastic cover on the 'behind the door' info., something black splashed on the headboard and nightstand. VERY noisy on a Sat. night with a wedding in the hotel - band and singing until the wee hours. Coffee shop serves a great breakfast buffet. Excellent bell service.

It was OK
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/11/07
If you plan to spend a lot of time in your room do not go to this hotel. The furniture is old, beds are hard as rocks, TV is too far away from the bed, the curtains are old and stained, we also found a roach crawling from underneath the bed. Who knows what else I would have found if I looked underneath the bed. The lightning in the room is not the greatest either and the Wireless Internet did not work for us all 4 days we were there. DO NOT USE THE IN-ROOM SAFE!!!! We put all our stuff in it (Money, Passports, Credit Cards and other valuables...when we came back from the beach we were not able to open it with the code we chose. I went to the Front Desk 3 times and each time I was told that the General Manager is the only one that can open it and that he was not available at the time. Next day we still didn’t hear from the GM. Went to FD again 2 times before somebody finally came up and opened our safe. Talk about frustration. We did not get the room type we wanted but they offered to changed rooms for us the next day. The Check in and Check out process took at least 20-30min. They are very busy and often understaffed, so give yourself plenty of time. NOW ON THE BRITHER SIDE I liked the bathroom...it was huge with a long mirror on the bathroom door. Even had a robe. The lobby area is gorgeous with bars, shops, restaurants, etc. right inside the hotel. The food was amazing, and the service provided by the restaurant staff was excellent.(Servers & Bartenders are experienced middle aged men, so please remember to tip them at least 20 or 30 pesos for their hard work). Both pools were well maintained. The bar was open all day, it was easy to get a drink even on a busy day. The whole outside area of the hotel was appealing. I also liked that they provide towels at no charge. The beach was not the best I’ve seen, the water was often dirty. And as soon as we stepped out of the resort area we were attacked by beach vendors...if you plan to spend the whole day on the beach know that you're neck will hurt from all the head shaking and nodding you'll have to do to clarify "NO I DO NOT WHAT TO BUY THAT" :) The Location of the hotel is great. We asked many locals what they thought about the Hyatt and they all said it's one of the best hotels in Acapulco. So do not go there expecting a US Hyatt, you will be disappointed. Lower your standards and you will be happy.

NOT very good, my 2 cents
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/28/07
Well, I had to write this review. I travel and stay in a lot of places, so when I booked the Hyatt, for those of you who have stayed at a Hyatt, you know what I was expecting. So I will start with the Bad, because I was pretty upset. My room felt more like a 39.95 Motel room. I was not impressed with the room at all. Window was very gross, and all the furniture was old. My lamp and remote did not work, and they do not have internet nor do they have cable, and you can't get movies, your stuck with the local channels. Then I needed to Iron, so guess what no iron. You have to call for one every day and they take 30 mins to an hour. I was very upset. Then I lost my key card, and I could get no service for a new key. They ignore you if they are not atending you. So, like someone else pointed out bad front desk service and need an Iron service, and also pool side beverage service was pretty bad. Nobody was getting us drinks, and when I finally got my Margaita on the rocks for $6 bucks it was in the smallest 5 year old B-day party styraphome cup and I finished it in 1 drink. I was disapointed. But then again, I have not stayed at any other hotels in Acapulco, but Hyatt should sell this one.. It is not a Hyatt. On the plus side. Breakfast is fantastic!!!!Free, plentiful, delicious and service was perfect. They really take care of you here. Pools are ok, and the Beach is cool. You can actually take your own cooler with beer to the pool or beach! But then again, this is Acapulco, I found it more of a Spring Break party place. So for Spring Breakers its dope.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/9/07
My boyfriend & I visited acapulco in April .We picked the hyatt and it was not too bad for the package deal price we paid ..we booked with apple vacations which is great they pick you up from the airport and all..=) The hotel was nice ,very clean , i loved that they had 24 hr room services ..it's located right across from walmart which i recommend going to for a 6 pack of beer you will pay under 4 bucks .. party nights start wednesday most places have a cover but happy hour all night ... clubs you should def go to are Pallidium & Paradise .I also recommend going on the booze cruise you pay about 22 open bar all night and they take you around the bay for about 4 hrs they have a dj and a live band..I was very surprised at how the whole strip is there is a mcdonalds & burger king nearby dominoes ,hooters you name it ..overall the hotel & hotel location is great !!

Great Value/Wonderful View
By Paula, 4/22/07
We were just there over spring break. The hotel was clean. The breakfast buffet was worth the money. It's a great place to relax by the pool. If you like to swim laps or claim a specific spot, go in the AM. By 12 it crowded. For a small tip they will bring you an umbrella. Much of the clientele was locals on Easter vacation and they don't seem to understand that they cannot get on the elevator until you get off. When the doors open, people are right in your face trying to get in the already crowded elevator. After buying water at Walmart (almost across the street...a nice perk...internet is cheap here too) we discovered that the ice and water in the hotel was drinkable. Other reviews stated it was not. It would be nice to have a mini fridge, and a few more people that spoke English since our Spanish was limited. Local family restaruants offer good food at reasonable prices. Walk a few blocks down but don't trip on the sidewalks! One last thing...there's no electricity in your room until you put your key card in the slot by the door. No one told us.

Hyatt Regency Acapulco
By John H, 3/4/07
I have stayed at this hotel six times and plan on returning in April 2007. You have to keep in mind its an older hotel but its kept very clean. I have never had a request refused by hotel staff. Also keep in mind its old Mexico, you have mountains and sunsets and what a view at night with all the lights. This is not like the new locations like Cancun( Wisconsin Dells of Mexico), Cobo, or Playa Del Carmen. If new is what you are looking for, try one of those places. This will be my 7th trip there and have never seen it rain like I have in Cancun. The weather is always perfect. Yes, you have to stay away during spring break or Easter. If you are looking to get your backside powdered its not going to happen. Buck up, your in Mexico. Also Judy on Club level is one of the nicest persons I have met in Mexico.

3 times a charm
By claude, 1/2/07
I have been to acapulco 3 times now, I must say while acapulco in general has declined (cancun is the new kid on the block) the hyatt continuously improves. The rooms are roomy and comfortable (by mexican standards)...if you are expecting Hyatt USA/Europe type rooms forget it...this is a tropical paradise not fantasy island. the service is great the location is on the quieter side of the strip (less vagrants) the hotel is cleam and top notch
