Hotel Casa Maya, Zona Hotelera

This place was terrible i never would go here agiain this was pathetic i cant believe i wasted my money this was not clean and bad

Casa Maya is a great place to stay when you go to Cancun. People there are very professional and very polite. The service was nothing but a pleasure. This hotel is nothing but clean, people work hard to make it pleasant for you! Except for the gift shop there, very unpleasant situation my wife experienced there. But every thing else was very very pleasant.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel several years ago and we were extremely disappointed. We had requested an ocean front room and we got a side view of the garbage and a building site. The room itself was in need of renovation. Tiles were cracked and missing from the bathroom. We complained and were transferred to a very nice renovated ocean front room. There wasn't a sign in English telling you not to bring the towels back to your room..which is exactly what we did that first night. We went out for dinner and when we returned...the towels were gone...they do not have turn down service. At the end of our trip they tried to charge us $25.00 for each towel claiming they never got their towels back. After calling for the manager..that was resolved. There were not enough straw shelters on the beach, so, we had to get up early each morning to run down to the beach to reserve one. They play water sports and have loud music going all day. There wasn't anyplace to go for quiet. About 1 out of every 6 staff members spoke English, so, it was hard to communicate.

We did put in a complaint when we got home to the agentcy that booked us. They passed on our letter to the resort. They wanted to give us a one week paid trip (airfare not included) to go back there. ...Thanks, but, NO thanks/

the rooms had rusted lamps and it is a nasty smell throughout the hotel. it is very expensive for the food and etc I recommend you pick somewhere else to stay.

My husband and I just got back a week ago. It was fantastic. It was clean, beautiful, relaxing, the food was very good. The bus is a block away to the left, cabs are on standby if you want to take a taxi. The staff was very friendly, most don't speak English but the hotel makes sure there is someone in every area that does. I went to relax and enjoy the beautiful beach and sun and that is exactly what I did. For me if was perfect!! We will go back! Only 1 complaint....the bed was too firm.

Spectaular views, clean rooms, good furniture, good resturants great staff, rooms and food reasonably priced, top location, internet, watersports on sight, boats, next door etc., etc. is a hard combination to beat. LOCATED RIGHT ACROSS STREET FROM GIANTIC 1000 MEXICAN FLAG a quick/cheap bus or cab ride to downtown or the convention center.

6 of us stayed for 7 days. We had a good flavor of the hotel and its staff during Easter Week. The hotel features 2 hottubs adjacent to the swimming pools. During the week, 1 was down for 3 days, and the other unit was down for 2. The staff is friendly, but attention to detail was lacking. For the last night of the stay, we were moved to another room. We got to the room only to find that the air conditioning unit was being replaced as we were moving in. Moved to yet another room. Watch for the cost penalties. The beach claims to be private but towns people constantly filter there way onto the beach and set up little Mexican communities during the day. The pay phones within the hotel are curiously set up not to accept phone cards purchased in the U.S., then when you step to the payphone just outside the the lobby on the sidewalk, they work. Another cost trap. Outside vendors are allowed to ply their wares on the hotel grounds. These are typically overpriced and we found, were counterfeit. (necklace described as hand carved bone turned out to be injection molded - all for the tiny price of 70 USD. All in all, wont go again.

What a wonderful place with a wonderful staff. You can see that they have really made an effort to upgrade the facility and that the staff is the absolutely best. Can't wait to go back. You can tell that they take the reviews seriously. Still need to work on the pillows!! Food was great beach was perfect and very exclusive to the guest only.

Check in was a nightmare. no bellman service. We had trouble finding our room after waiting almost 3 hours to get a key. Our complaint was brushed aside. Cancun was the only thing worth the trip which by the way was quicker than the check in.

My husband and I visited the Casa Maya and had a wonderful time. The staff is just great. The never left us wanting for anything. Some rooms were in the process of being renovated. Ours hadn't been yet. Even with this it was still very comfortable. They have a terrific view and the beach is just great. Could just lay there for days, well actually I did. Casa Maya makes you feel at home. Will be back. I bought a test drive on the time share and very happy I did.
