Description

With its newly updated 12,000-square-foot pool and patio area, this hotel offers more room for each poolside visitor than does the typical deluxe property. Divided into three swimming areas all filled with freshwater, it offers a swim-up bar, a lovely waterfall area between pool levels, a jacuzzi and a grill. The hotel offers amazing views of both the Pacific Ocean and Cabo Bay. Because of undertows, swimming from the beautiful beach in front of the hotel is not recommended.

Not worth the time or money
By ,
Well first I guess it wasn't good luck that we were there for 4 days and it was cold and cloudy except for when we left. They have nice pools though none of them were warm enough for me to enter them. There was also only 2 our of 6 spas that were even hot. The others were lukewarm or even cold. There is also no Internet available in the rooms. You have to go sit in the lobby. The room was okay. The beds are hard a rocks. I had to take the mattress off of the pull out couch and put it on top of the bed in order to even sleep. There was no hair dryer, coffee maker or refrigerator to use. Another thing that really sucked was that lack of any kind of vending machine on site. We had to order from room service if we wanted anything to drink. This lead to pretty bad dehydration actually. The town itself was also not that much fun and in fact it is extremely expensive. I found it cheaper to vacation in Hawaii. Plan on spending at least $60 for a dinner and $10 USD for a water down drink. Even though the room was cheap through a Eversave Travel offering, it wasn't worth it. Although it didn't say it in the advertisement, I had to attend a Timeshare presentation and it was awful. The final guy was degrading and disrespectful to me. I most definitely will not be returning to Cabo let alone Hotel Finisterra. Overall not happy, and don't waste your vacation days or money.

Run Forrest Run
By ,
If you are a time share owner..good location. If your looking for a nice hotel stay ..run Forrest run. Ice machine was broken (has been for 5 years I was told). Only place to eat was at the small bar. Shuttle for guests was "out of service". Don't go by the pictures on the website..they are a lie. Comforters are 10 years old. And they turn off your airconditioning after each cleaning so you always come back into a hot room. And it was like a ghost town, maybe 15 guest total. They should charge 50.00 USD per night, then it would be worth it. Staff are friendly, but I think they must be starving, because this place has no guests.

Don't do it
By ,
Upon first look, I was impressed. But then came all the reality. No beach swimming, no ice, all but one jacuzzi works, no Coffee in the room. Do you want to soak in the tub? You have to plug the drain with a wash rag. This place is 40 years old and upon closer inspection...looks like it. And the welcome package.....DON'T DO IT! You just may come away 277 grand in debt!!!! This was my honeymoon.............What a joke! Enter at your own risk!

You don't want to miss staying here!
By ,
We jsut returned from our winter holiday and spent 4 nights at the Finisterra. Super room with balcony overlooking the Pacific. Great food breakfast and dinner in the Blue Marlin. Wi-fi for those of us "tied" to our email. From the complimentary bottle of wine with dinner with fresh caught Sea Bass to omlet breakfasts that stick to your ribs for the day. All in all a super place with courteous service throughout our stay. We will be back!

Stay Here!!
We were on our honeymoon and were so happy that we picked the Finisterra. Great service and great food! The food is very affordable and high quality. The location is great if you want to walk into town. We found ourselves lounging by the pool everyday drinking margaritas and enjoying the food and sun. The location on the beach is very beautiful. The Whale Watcher bar has a great view and 1/2 price drinks 4 - 6. The Blue Marlin has excellent food for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. The food and the pool bar is also very good and 1/2 price drinks here from 2 - 4. We stayed in the new Marina view rooms and they were very nice. Everything was top notch to the granite, tile and the pictures. The balconies in the Marina rooms are also much nicer than the beach rooms. The beds are hard but this is the only complaint. I would stay here again every time I visit Cabo!! Enjoy!

Beds are hard as concrete!
By ,
I loved the view of the pool and ocean from the room. The beds were so hard that we only slept 3-4 hours from tossing and turning all night. We had to go next door to Playa Grande to get a massage, since no spa at this hotel. August is a bad time to go to Cabo! Only 10 people at the most out by the pool and the Marlin restraurant had only 3 couples there.

Never Stay anywhere else in Cabo!
By ,
Was there for 9/11 and a 3 day stay turned in to 13 days. Staff was like family, very helpful ownership COMPED the 10 days extra. When we were on the way to the airport the couples we picked up along the way were wondering how to pay for the extended stay they were not expecting. This man that owns this hotel will forever have my loyalty and referrals. He treated his guests like his own family! An angel in my eyes. And by the way we found out the Finisterra was the only hotel in Cabo to do this! Does this say enough?

Great Hotel!!!!
By ,
We went down for my son’s wedding. We loved almost everything about this hotel. The only problem was that we were not informed that the Blue Marlin restaurant and Whale Watcher Bar were closed. Several other amenities were not available either. Since this is their slow season, it is understandable that they would do renovations now. The rooms were spacious and if you needed something, you got immediately. We had an oceanfront room and the view is exceptional. The food in the bar was good, the pools were great and the whirlpools were nice and warm. I didn't go into town because there didn't seem to be much around except construction. We ate at The Office Restaurant on Thursday, so we were treated to their Mexican Fiesta. We had our rehearsal dinner at Lorenzillo's and it was fabulous. The wedding coordinator at the Finisterra was great. She was always on top of everything. The wedding set-up on the beach was beautiful as was the wedding itself. The wedding dinner was in the Palapita Events Center, right on the beach at the hotel. The dinner was great and all of our needs were met. Everyone was delighted with the entire stay and with good cause. This hotel is great!!! Just don't go into the ocean. Tremendous waves will sweep you away. There is a very dangerous undertow. But you can walk along the beach, just be careful to avoid the water. At least you don't have to worry about any vendors since this is a private beach. Bottom line is, if you want an enjoyable stay, want to be waited on, and want great memories, stay here.

THE BEST PLACE TO STAY IN CABO
By ,
The staff is courtesy, (bi-lingual), the resort and rooms VERY Clean, and if your to lay back and relax you can. If you want to party you can. The proximatity to town (walking distance) is GREAT - close to everything. I've been staying at the Finisterra for 12 years and I won't stay anywhere else in Cabo. I stayed here at different times of the year, (Feb, July, Oct, Nov, May - you name it), and it's always GREAT. I usually don't eat at the restaurant as I like to experience the local downtown dives. The two back-to-back happy hours are great. If you miss one, you can always catch the other one. Be sure to take a pair of binoculars, you never know what you might catch sight of in the waters while at the whale watcher bar. The food at the Palaypa bar is pretty good. If you don't want to do a time-share, just tell them no and the staff will leave you along. I've never had a problem. Every year when I go back, they remember us, and welcome us with open arms and big hugs warm smiles.. The bellmen have remembered our names, and brought us up to date on new happenings since our last visit to Cabo. They are always ready to offer suggestions on restaurants within your budget - remember they know the best places to eat, take advantage of their knowledge of the layout of the town. Most of all - chill out and have fun, your in CABO. You make your vacation what you want it to be - you don't have to go bankrupt to have a good time. And the walk up the hill - hey remember they have a van, it will come down and pick you up at the bottom of the hill - it's usually sitting down there waiting for you!! SO WHAT'S THERE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT NOW !!

The view & location are great, but the hotel itself is less than diserable. The crowd were rude drunks. While I like to throw down tequila with the best of them, the slobs that stay here grossed me out. The pool area was filled with empty bottles & cans. There were lime wedges floating in the pool. We went next door & used the pool at Playa Grande, clean & much nicer.
