All inclusive is the way to go!
By Juanita, 9/6/06
The Oasis Palm Beach is a bit out of the way from the Zona Hotelera. So, it will cost you $10 USD every time you take a taxi into town. But, $0.60 for the bus. They have amazing food at the buffets with lots of variety (international meals) every day. Soft serve ice cream was my favorite treat after dinner :) It was nice to have a restaurant that took reservations. Ask for a "Flaming (Flamado) Cappucino" at the Mexican Restaurant. Rest assure that the Yahoo hotel pictures match the real deal. Their beach was the most active compared to nearby hotels. The only complaint is of the elevator being out of service. Lots of foreign tourists (italian, french, mexican, american, etc.) made the experience more interesting.

Expensive Lesson Learned
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/7/06
As far as the hotel itself, the room had no balcony, no mini bar, no safety box. The hallways were not air conditioned. 1 of only 2 elevators was down for service the whole time. The staff seemed more discourteous to certain travelers. We had to pay 'extra' for water and a room safe. We went to the 'disco'once and was basically ignored by the staff and the musice was more for the local culture. Few good points: the pool was always clean and it was of a particularly nice design. This allowed for more privacy and kept the 'families' at a distance. The food was adequate but offered little variety and nothing 'special'. For the price, our experience was disappointing and we could not recommend this hotel.

alright for the money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/2/06
One downfall was we were there in the begining of June and it was very hot, the hallways, lobby, and bar area had no a/c; comming from a not so hot enviroment that took a day or two to get used to. the beds took several nights getting used to they were very hard. I was sunburnt after the first day and was very hard to sleep on such a hard bed. the food was not the greatest. As for the actual beach was ok it seemed like there was a lot of sea weed so we just went up the road to Oasis Cancun and chilled on their beach. had kayak for free which was pretty awesome. had to take bus almost everywhere was quite a ways from shopping and clubs downtown.

Good view
By Kindra LaShay, 10/4/05
The place was not that clean, Nice view from all angles. Service could have been better, overall I thought that the city of Cancun was cleaner than our hotel. The pools were nice and the beach was awesome.

We will not go again:(
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/27/05
The check in was awful we got there at 11am and didn't get the room until 6:30pm. The service was really poor, the people that work in the hotel was very unhappy people (not a smile). The rooms where very small and not that clean. The food was the same the all time even when they have 3 differents restaurants. We spend most of our time in Oasis Cancun wish was much nicer then the one we paid to stay. Cancun is a really nice place for vacationa and specially for night time but we will never chose this hotel again. Franco Family NJ

just what i needed
By maranda, 8/5/05
We went to Cancun in September 2003 and stayed and the Oasis Cancun. This was our 1st vacation to Cancun so I really dont know what any of the other hotels are like, but I do know that we had a GREAT time. The service was great, the scenery was beautiful!!!! Hotel rooms were not the best I have ever stayed in, but not the worst either. I was not impressed with the food, but did not starve either, although I did go pay $100.00USD for crablegs (that were better at Red Lobster). The pool was awesome. We did leave hotel at night and do on several outings including bar hopping the first night that we were there, i think we paid like 60.00 a person for this, and about 2 days later found out that you can go to any of the bars and get unlimited drinks for $20.00, but we had fun anyway. We also went snorkeling which I do recommend to do while you are there. The pirate cruise was an O.K. experience. If u go, just make sure you show up atleast 1 hour before time to leave the dock, if u dont u will be sitting on a very small stool crowded on each side and also in front and behind u. But the food and the show that they did was FUN!!!! Overall the trip was great and I am booking tonight for my trip in September again. I am torn between going to a new hotel or back to the Oasis. I would be happy going back to the Oasis and think u will enjoy the experience as well!!!!!

Great Value!!
By Ezequiel, 7/13/05
Clean room, great food, great pools, great beach location, excelent service! I've vacationed all over the world & this is definitely a top place to relax. Be patient @ check in desk. Be sure to tip staff, esp. waiters & waitresses. They get paid minimal & perform supberb services. A U.S. dollar goes a long way to show appreciation.

AVOID THIS HOTEL
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/5/05
This hotel stinks, the atitude of most of the staff (bar staff epecially) is appalling They turn the aircon off early in the evening, the foods repetitive, boring, and sometimes cold and when you try to bring food into the hotel the security guard on the door stops you. They try to fleece you with hidden charges for everything like water, towel hire etc. the windows dont open, the safes dont work, the cards for the doors kept braking. They suddenly dont understand english when you want something sorted. There is nothing to do in the evening. I wouldnt recommend this hotel to my worst enemy
