Nice resort if you want to be near town
This was the first of three hotels we stayed at on a recent trip to Puero Vallarta - and unfortunately, also my least favorite. (Fair disclosure - it was also the least expensive.) I loved the openness of the resort - the long breezy hallways, the large open lobby/bar/restaurant on the 1st floor, and being right on the ocean (and able to leave the window open at night). I also really enjoyed being a close, easy walk to the main drag of PV - it made going out for dinner very easy. There are two pools to choose from - on the days we were there, one was quieter, the other louder, and hosted water aerobics (a fun class). The Sheraton was not that crowded, which made it a nice quiet stay with very attentive service. The rooms, while large, were sparsely furnished. The beds had not been upgraded as they have throughout the Sheraton chain. Also note that the "hospitality" counter in the lobby is just another of the many operations trying to sell a timeshare.
